The Earrings Kate Middleton Just Wore Have A Hidden Meaning

Prior to the intense tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's rift with the royal family had already made headlines. In January 2020, the former Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they were stepping down from their positions to live in California. Since the bombshell announcement, all eyes have been on the royal family and their reactions to the de-facto "Megxit" movement.

Harry and Meghan's interview special, which aired on March 7, 2021, delves into the couple's experience of royal life. The heavy conversation also featured shocking accusations and tearful stories, including Meghan's claims that the royals were concerned about the color of Meghan and Harry's son Archie's skin color. Additionally, viewers got a glimpse into Meghan's rocky relationship with Kate Middleton. In the interview, Meghan claimed the Duchess of Cambridge made her cry following a pre-wedding disagreement over flower girl dresses, although headlines reported otherwise. "The reverse happened," Meghan said, per People. "And I don't say that to be disparaging to anyone, because it was a really hard week of the wedding, and she was upset about something. But she owned it, and she apologized and she brought me flowers and a note apologizing."

Following the interview, Kate wore earrings with a very subtle message during a virtual appearance. Read on to find out the underlying message behind Kate Middleton's earrings.

Kate Middleton's earrings are from Meghan Markle's favorite brand

Just hours after the airing of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's tell-all interview, Kate Middleton made quite a fashion statement during a video call released by Kensington Palace. To mark International Women's Day, Kate spoke with rower Jasmine Harrison, who became the youngest woman to solo row to the Atlantic. Aside from the engaging conversation between the two, viewers couldn't help but notice Kate's earrings.

During the video call, the Duchess of Cambridge donned a pair of drop earrings from London-based jewelry brand Missoma, a favored brand by her sister-in-law Meghan, according to the Daily Mail. The earrings feature a pink rhodochrosite healing crystal, which the brand's website describes as one that "radiates love, compassion and all-around good vibes, suspended from a texture gold vermeil hoop with pyramid detailing."

While it is unclear where Meghan and Kate's relationship stands after the interview, royal expert Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight that Prince William and Kate are reportedly "devastated" by it. "Harry has said time is a healer and it is," Nicholl said. "But I think there are so many raw emotions here, that it's far too early to talk about any kind of family reunion." As of this writing, Kate Middleton has yet to publicly respond to the interview.
