Gwen Stefani Asks A Mega Celebrity To Be Her Maid Of Honor
Gwen Stefani is preparing for her upcoming wedding to Blake Shelton — and she's already picking her bridal party! While this will be the second wedding for both Stefani and Shelton, the two seem really excited to be on this journey together. The lovebirds, who met on the set of The Voice, announced that they were engaged back in October 2020. At the time, Stefani posted a photo to her Instagram page, holding her newly ringed-up hand in front of her as she and Shelton shared a kiss. "Yes please!" she captioned the snap, which has garnered more than 1.4 million likes at the time of this writing.
As for when the big day might be, Stefani has discussed the challenges she and Shelton are facing due to the coronavirus pandemic. "I just want my parents there at this point. My parents wouldn't come to Thanksgiving because they're so scared, so really would rather it not be a COVID situation," she told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show in December 2020. "I would rather not have masks... Even when you cut it down to just family, it's still too many people for COVID, so we're going to see what happens in the next few months," she added.
So, has Stefani already chosen a maid of honor? Read on to find out the scoop!
Gwen Stefani sat down for a virtual chat with Ellen DeGeneres for a wedding surprise
In mid-March 2021, Gwen Stefani sat down for a virtual one-on-one with Ellen DeGeneres. During the interview, DeGeneres asked Stefani about her wedding plans, and offered her assistance, according to People. Stefani didn't skip a beat, and even asked DeGeneres to be in the wedding! "I was thinking about that a lot, and I was picturing like a mauve bridesmaid. Maybe maid of honor, you know? We can put some extensions in, and we can make it a full flower arrangement. All that stuff," Stefani joked.
DeGeneres accepted the offer, letting Stefani know that she'd be there in any way that she could. Oh, and the hair extensions? No problem. "I don't mind doing any of that for you, because you're my friend and anything you ask, I will wear. I will put extensions in my hair. Anything at all. That's how much I love you Gwen," the host said.
While DeGeneres probably won't actually be the maid of honor at Shelton and Stefani's event, she will more than likely be invited — if the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted by that time. She is very good friends with both of the entertainers.
