How Much Mama June Really Spent On Her Drug Addiction

June "Mama June" Shannon has had her ups and downs over the years. The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo matriarch has been slammed for her parenting skills, size, dating history, and addiction. After undergoing weight loss surgery in 2016, Mama June seemed to be kicking off a new chapter in her life. In a trailer for her spinoff series From Not to Hot (via ET), Mama June vowed to be changing her body and love life. 

The Toddlers & Tiaras alum returned to the reality TV cameras once more for Mama June: Road to Redemption in March 2021, two years after her felony arrest for "possession of a controlled substance," as reported by People. Mama June had previously admitted to using "$2,500 worth of methamphetamine" per day in an addiction-focused Family Crisis special, but she and boyfriend Geno Doak celebrated their six-month sobriety milestone in August 2020. "That is something I'm very proud of," Mama June captioned on Instagram

Mama June estimates she spent close to $1 million on crack cocaine

Mama June Shannon told Access Hollywood that while addicted to crack cocaine, she wasted her family's money on drugs. "I would say the last year of our addiction, probably a good $900,000," Mama June guessed. "So much money was sent to our dope man." 

One transaction was close to $80,000, and Mama June recalled waiting on money to get a "last high" before entering treatment, ending up with "literally a $1.75 to [her] name." Per Daily MailMama June previously revealed she sold her Georgia home for $100,000 cash, presumably used for substance abuse. She and her boyfriend Geno Doak were living in an Alabama casino at the time of their 2019 arrest, while her daughter, Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, has been living with her older sister, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon.

Mama June blamed her upbringing and lineage for her addiction. "I was around drugs all my life ... Addiction does run in my family," she added. According to Page Sixthe mother of four used meth "off and on until 2015 [and] started doing cocaine" two years later. Mama June claims she's focusing her "addictive personality" to help others in recovery, which seems like a cheaper hobby!
