What Ant Anstead Is Looking For After His Split From Christina

Ant Anstead's relationship with Flip or Flop star Christina Anstead ended almost as quickly as it began. The pair shocked fans when they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in their backyard in Newport Beach, Calif. in December 2018. Shortly after walking down the aisle, Christina and Ant welcomed their first child, son Hudson, together in September 2019 (per Life & Style). Christina also has two children from her previous marriage to Tarek El Moussa (Taylor and Brayden), while Ant also has two children from his first marriage (Amelie and Archie).

In September 2020, the HGTV star announced that she and Ant were parting ways on Instagram, and in November 2020, Christina filed divorce paperwork — just shy of two years of marriage. The pair seemed to handle the split in different ways. Christina bought a yacht and named it "Aftermath" following the sour relationship. In turn, Ant expressed his shock over his breakup with Christina and appeared to be literally reeling in the aftermath. "It really hit me hard. The impact on me, my sleep, my diet, my stress, it showed," he revealed to People. The television personality says that eventually focused on his kids to help get him out of the dark place he was in, reminding himself how blessed he still is.

Ant Anstead hopes to get by with a little help from his friends

Slowly but surely, Ant Anstead is picking up the pieces from his short-lived marriage to Christina Anstead. In March 2021, the father of three shared with People that he is looking for plenty of new relationships in his life, including friendships. Ant moved from Newport Beach to a home in Laguna Beach, where he is laying down his new foundation. After six months of "working on myself," the television personality feels like he's finally in a good place. "I feel like I've really made Laguna my home, and I've got this overwhelming urge now to sort of make friends."

Ant even made it his New Year's resolution to make a conscious effort to forge friendships with "people of substance." The TV host also shared a few details on what exactly he's looking for in potential pals going forward. "Real people, people that are just down to earth," he dished. "People that... just their heart is in the right place." Ant shared that another bonus would be to meet more parents who have kids the same age as his son, Hudson.

It seems like things are going pretty smoothly in the friend department so far. In March 2021, Ant shared a photo of himself and a few other fathers hanging out on the beach on Instagram. We wish Ant the best of luck, and it's safe to say he probably won't have too much trouble making more friends.
