First, Molly secretly married Luis Mendez, whom both of her daughters despised. After months of butting heads, an explosive fight famously involving a Space Jam t-shirt was the tipping point of Molly and Luis' relationship.
They split soon after in January 2018, and Luis married another woman only five months later. He supposedly knew his new bride from living in the Dominican Republic, per In Touch Weekly. "I think there was probably an arrangement and he knew off the bat what he was going to do."
By September 2020, Screen Rant reported that Luis was in the process of being deported since his second wife was not a U.S. citizen herself and therefore couldn't sponsor him for the Green Card process. Molly Hopkins' boyfriend Kelly is an NYC cop
Per In Touch Weekly, Molly Hopkins first connected with Brooklyn police officer Kelly on Instagram. She traveled to the Big Apple to get to know him more before inviting him to stay with her in Woodstock, Ga., where she joked she can make good use of his handcuffs. Kelly was reportedly smitten with Molly from the start. "The moment I laid eyes on Molly it was instant attraction," he said on 90 Day: The Single Life (via TV Insider). He even won over her daughters, Olivia and Kensley, according to Screen Rant.
Molly stressed that communication is key to winning her heart, especially following her messy divorce from ex Luis Mendez. "We got to dive deeper," Molly said in an episode (via In Touch Weekly). "I really hope there's not a reason why Kelly has kind of kept the door closed on his past."
Kelly made it clear he does not have any children and has never been married, but Molly is skeptical why a catch like Kelly hasn't settled down yet. Could he just have been waiting for her all along? Only time will tell if Molly has another marriage in her future!
