Inside The Launch Of Donald Trump's New Website

Former President Donald Trump was infamously banned from Twitter following the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol building. In fact, it wasn't just Twitter that banned him, but most major social media platforms — including Facebook and Instagram – nixed Trump from their platforms at one point or another in early 2021.

So, is the Twitter ban permanent? Twitter's CFO Ned Segal spoke on CNBC's "Squawk Box" in February 2021, and confirmed that Trump's ban from the site was indeed permanent. "The way our policies work, when you're removed from the platform, you're removed from the platform whether you are a commentator, a CFO or you are a former or public official," Segal said.

While Trump lost the 2020 election to President Joe Biden, he has still made it clear that he wants to stay in the spotlight. Trump spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference in late February 2021, where he indicated that he hasn't ruled out a run in 2024. For instance, at the event, he called wife Melania Trump the "future first lady."

With Trump's political ambitions still very much alive, countered by the fact that he was banned from several social media platforms, it comes as no surprise that he launched a website. 45office.com is his new, official platform and there's a lot to say about it.

You can invite Donald and Melania Trump to your event

Former President Donald Trump's website 45office.com begins with a mission statement, claiming that the "Office of Donald J. Trump is committed to preserving the magnificent legacy of the Trump Administration." The site also noted that Trump's office is focused on "advancing the America First agenda."

Trump's website offers a lengthy history of his presidency that The Guardian notes is "a very selective retelling of the history of his time in office." The platform claims that Trump's "inspiring and groundbreaking campaign proved pollsters, pundits, prognosticators, and the corporate media spectacularly wrong." The site also alleges that the forgotten people of America "were forgotten no more because we finally had a President who put America First." The website makes no mention of Trump's two impeachments, nor does it mention that he lost the popular vote both to Hillary Clinton in 2016 and again to President Joe Biden in 2020.

Trump's website also offers ways to contact Trump and wife Melania Trump. Visitors to the site can share their thoughts with the couple. They can also schedule a request for the couple appear at an event and request a greeting from the couple. There's also a section for press injuries.

As the Boston Herald points out, Trump is "mulling a run for the Oval Office again in 2024, but his immediate focus in on the mid-terms and helping Republicans win back control of the Senate and possibly the House." Whatever his future ambitions, it's clear that Trump doesn't want to back away from the spotlight.
