Real Housewives Of Dallas Turned Down This Former Bachelor Star Twice

The Real Housewives franchise might be a mega hit, but not with everyone. In fact, there's a whole list of celebs who can't stand the Real Housewives. It makes sense. There's always tons of drama that comes out of the series.

Conversely, there are tons of people who'd love to get a spot on the Bravo hit. Hey, it's a great way to get exposure, build a brand, and sparkle in the spotlight of reality TV. It's also an effective way to share your story. This was certainly the case for Real Housewives of Dallas star Stephanie Hollman, who used her fame to shed light on issues of domestic violence prevention. What a worthy way to use a platform!

How about RHOD star Kameron Westcott? She used her exposure to support breast cancer research. She also built a brand of dog food and dog clothing, so she's busy helping save lives and having fun with pups.

In light of all of this, it's no wonder a certain Bachelor star was hoping to join the cast of the Real Housewives of Dallas. Unfortunately, she got turned down... twice. Here's the scoop.

Melissa Rycroft says she's 'not Housewife material'

Bachelor star Melissa Rycroft was the final winner of the 13th season of The Bachelor, with Jason Mesnick as the lead. While it sounds like a sweet ending, it totally wasn't for Melissa. Jason wound up calling off the engagement to pursue runner-up Molly Malaney, according to Life & Style. Despite the surprise, things worked out well in terms of love for Melissa. She married Tye Strickland, whom she had dated before joining The Bachelor, and they have three children, per the outlet.

Melissa is a Texas native and is a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, so it makes perfect sense that, while answering fan questions on Instagram on March 27, 2021, someone asked her about a potential gig in a reality show. "Why would you never go on the Real Housewives of Dallas?" the fan asked (via Us Weekly).

Melissa gave a shocking answer: "I've been interviewed and turned down twice ... I am so NOT Housewife material!" Umm, can we send a memo to Andy Cohen to protest this?
