Royal Expert Believes They Know Who Said The Racist Remark About Archie

There were many reasons Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to step back from their royal duties, and we got a shocking glimpse at these reasons during their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey on March 7, 2021.

During the interview, which still has people buzzing, Meghan and Harry dropped some intense details about their lives as royals. Meghan admitted that she didn't feel protected by the Firm, and that tabloid speculation got so bad that she even considered suicide at one point. Harry made a surprising remark about feeling "trapped" in his royal position, and while he was able to get out, he recognizes that his father and brother, Prince Charles and Prince William, don't have that same opportunity.

One of the most shocking claims came, however, in regards to Meghan and Harry's infant son, Archie. When Meghan was pregnant with Archie, she said that there were "concerns" over "how dark" his skin tone would be, a revelation that has shocked fans across the world.

Since the interview aired, people have been speculating about who made the racist comment, as Meghan and Harry refused to name any names. Socialite Lady Colin Campbell, a royal expert, claims to know who it was, though she insists that Meghan and Harry misinterpreted the situation — keep reading to learn more details.

Lady Colin Campbell believes that Princess Anne is behind Meghan and Harry's racism accusation

Though Prince Harry and Meghan Markle refused to specify who was behind the racist remark about Archie's skin tone, royal insider Lady Colin Campbell seems to know who it was: Princess Anne. Lady Colin has her own podcast, Chatting with Lady C, in which she divulged some details about what she thinks went down between Meghan, Harry, and Princess Anne (via Daily Mail).

"Harry decided that on the slimmest of hints about culture — that it referred to colour," she explained. "[Anne] had concerns about the disastrous effects of allowing somebody of that ilk, character wise, into the family, would not only cause trouble for all of them but also for any child born of the union," Lady C continued, referring to Meghan and Archie. She also added that she thinks Meghan "weaponized" Anne's objections "on the grounds of colour."

Lady Colin also claimed that "Princess Anne was rightly concerned that if the marriage proceeded and there were children there would be huge problems, not because of Meghan's colour, but because of Meghan's inability and determination to remain unable to appreciate the cultural differences," though she doesn't specify what these alleged "cultural differences" are.

While Lady C has a strong opinion about the situation, Meghan did undeniably face a great deal of racism during her time in the palace — so it's safe to say that she's happy to maintain her distance from the institution.

Meghan and Harry supposedly twisted the 'genuine concern of a loving aunt'

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle came out saying that someone in the royal family had made racist remarks about their son, Archie, Lady Colin Campbell feels like they were not only misunderstanding the concerns that Princess Anne allegedly had, but they also twisted that situation.

"Meghan and Harry have used that genuine concern of a loving aunt, knowing that because she is down to earth, experienced, modest, intelligent, and sensible, and that you cannot make a sow's ear into a silk purse," Lady C explained to the Daily Mail in her own particular way.

Beyond that, Lady C claimed that, in her opinion, it's necessary for her to speak out about what she thinks truly happened so that it's not used "by some anti-establishment, anti-monarchist organization, who will spin things destructively to further their agenda." Whether or not that's likely to happen, it seems like there are plenty of people out there who are willing to believe Lady C and, at the same time, show their support for Princess Anne.

Plenty of people are backing Princess Anne

Following Lady Colin Campbell's claims that Princess Anne was the person who had made a remark about the color of Archie's skin and that there had been a misinterpretation regarding her concern, a fair share of people took to Twitter to show their support for the elder royal. "For goodness sake, it would be a question someone would ask out of curiosity not a racist remark. [Prince Harry and Meghan Markle] have colored the truth and have done so much damage, strip them of the titles. Good on Anne," one person tweeted. Someone else took to Twitter to write that "Princess Anne is no-nonsense, doesn't suffer fools, and saw right through Harry's wife from the start."

Although, not everyone was convinced by what Lady C had to say. "Was Princess Anne mentioned during the interview? Did I miss something? Don't recall her being mentioned. Don't respond, I know she wasn't," another social media user noted. They then added, "Colin is sure working hard to make her coin off Meghan's name though." While Lady C may be right when it comes to Princess Anne's involvement and motivation, perhaps she is indeed just trying to get her name in the news and drive some traffic to her podcast.
