Jen Shah made a huge impact on her the first season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City thanks to her no b.s. attitude and her season-long feud with co-star Mary Cosby. Shah became one of the housewives that fans love to hate — though, on the reunion show with Andy Cohen, she seemed to show some remorse for her actions and how she behaved in her freshman season (via The Daily Dish). During said reunion, the topic of what she actually does for a living came up several times, and as she explained to viewers and Cohen, "My background is in direct response marketing for about 20 years, so our company does advertising. We have a platform that helps people acquire customers, so when you're shopping online or on the Internet, and something pops, we have the algorithm behind why you're getting served that ad."
However, on March 30, 2021, the reality TV world was shaken when the FBI arrested Shah and her business partner-assistant, Stuart Smith. They alleged that the duo ran a telemarketing scam that primarily targeted individuals over 55 years of age. The masterminds reportedly sold "lead lists" to different businesses while knowingly defrauding customers (most of whom did not have computer access). Basically, Sha's feud with Cosby seems to be a thing of the past, as she now could be facing time behind bars.

Stuart Smith is Jen Shah's number one assistant
This 2021 scandal has us feeling total Varsity Blues Vibes, even though there's only one public figure in the case of Jen Shah. Her assistant and business partner, Stuart Smith, is less well-known, but he's reportedly facing the same charges.
Shah has taken to Instagram a few times to share photos of Smith, including on his birthday. "Some people come into your life for a reason...they are with you through the highs and lows, they are steadfast in their loyalty and love," she wrote on Instagram on March 18, 2021, alongside a photo of Smith in a tracksuit. "There's NO ONE ELSE LIKE YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my STUCHAINZ!" Shah went on to thank Smith for all his unconditional love and loyalty, but we have a feeling she may be singing a different tune when the two head to court.
According to The Sun, not much is known about Smith other than he's a member of the "Shah Squad" and that he's Shah's No. 1 assistant. Smith has also appeared on a few episodes of RHOSLC. According to the Daily Mail, both Shah and Smith were released from police custody the same day they were arrested, but were ordered not to leave the state of Utah and not to have contact with one another.
Previously appearing on The Michelle Collins Show, Shah shared that Smith would "literally do anything" for her — and it looks like it literally might be coming back to bite him in the butt.
