The whole Wahlberg family is in mourning following the death of their beloved matriarch, Alma Wahlberg. Her celebrity sons Donnie and Mark Wahlberg took to social media on April 18, to share the heartbreaking news after their mother's longtime struggle with dementia, previously highlighted on their A&E series Wahlburgers.
"My angel. Rest in peace," the Daddy's Home actor caption an Instagram photo of his mother, while the New Kids on the Block member shared a lengthy video in his mother's honor. Describing what an incredible mom she was to him and his siblings, Donnie wrote, "Like so many moms who struggled, overcame odds, made something from nothing and pulled off the impossible for their children, she never complained. She did what needed to be done, most often, with a smile. She made the best of times in the worst of times."

Mark Wahlberg comes from a huge family
Although the world may be most familiar with actor Mark Wahlberg and his boybander brother, Donnie Wahlberg, there are actually a few more Wahlbergs who have managed to fly under the radar. In total, Alma Wahlberg was a mother to nine children, That's right, nine. Asides from Donnie and Mark, who is the youngest of the brood, Alma also shared four other sons, Arthur, Paul, Jim, Robert, and three daughters, Michelle, Debbie and Tracey, with ex-husband Donald Wahlberg, per The Sun. Sadly, Debbie died in 2003 at the age of 43 after experiencing a sudden heart attack and septic shock while getting kidney stones removed, Mark told ET Canada in 2019.
While Mark's parents raised nine kids together before their divorce after 17 years of marriage in 1982, his father had three additional children from a previous relationship. His three half-siblings are eldest sister Donna, and his brothers Scott and Buddy, who died for unknown reasons, according to Amo Mama. Including Mark's half-siblings, the actor is one of 12 Wahlbergs. It looks like he and his family were the original cheaper by the dozen.
