Katie was a fan-favorite and blew up on the internet, developing quite the following, so it makes perfect sense that she was announced as the next Bachelorette.
Katie's season is going to be remarkably different from previous seasons. For starters, Chris Harrison will not be hosting, as Cosmopolitan notes. Instead, Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe are taking on the hosting duties together. We love the female energy behind this season, which will premiere on June 7, 2021.

James Bosnall and Katie Thurston are close in age
James Bonsall is a bit of a mystery man. Reality Steve broke the news of who the contestants were on Katie Thurston's season in March 2021, and he noted in his tweet that James is originally from New York, N.Y. However, according to his Instagram profile, James currently lives in San Diego, Calif.
James is one of the only "Bachelorette" contestants whose Instagram isn't currently set to private, and there are a few clues about who he is on his social media page. He's majorly into working out, as he proudly shares on social media. Like, he's really ripped. James is also a proud dog dad, so he's already a favorite in our book.
According to Reality Steve, James was 30 years old at the time of filming, and his age became a notable topic. Katie was also 30 at the time of filming, according to Us Weekly, and one fan noted that some of the other contestants were younger than her. "I'm disappointed there aren't more older guys, and they've mostly gone back to 25 – 28 year olds," the Twitter user pointed out. "I was hoping with Katie being 30, they'd have more variety age-wise..." James is closer to Katie's age than some of the other contestants, but fans will have to wait and see who gets her final rose.
