Bad News For Tristan Thompson In Paternity Battle

Tristan Thompson may be an NBA player, however, his personal life sparks just as many (if not more) headlines. That's partly due to the fact that he's involved with one of the most famous reality television stars around: Khloé Kardashian. The two have been in an on-again-off-again relationship for years while also sharing daughter True. Beyond that, Thompson has a son Prince with his ex Jordan Craig.

While the pro athlete has dealt with some iffy issues regarding his romantic relationships, he seems to be a devoted dad. "I am the father of two young children. I love my children and take my responsibilities as a father extremely seriously," Thompson said in court documents, per The Blast. He went on to say that he is "involved in [his] children's lives" and is "proud to have close relationships with [his] children," while also "provid[ing] for their needs financially and otherwise."

However, another woman has been claiming that Thompson is also the father of her son and the legal situation between the two adults has taken a turn that the star is surely not happy about. Read on for more.

Tristan Thompson thinks this claim is 'damaging' his reputation

Tristan Thompson wants the world to know that he's trying to be a good dad. That's why he addressed the claim that he may have a third child, took a DNA test, and sought after the woman who says he's the father in court. In documents that were filed by Thompson's legal team (and obtained by The Blast), the star stated, "For [Kimberly] Alexander to falsely state that I am the type of man who would neglect his parental duties hurts me emotionally..." The basketball player went on to explain that "[h]ad the DNA test results shown that Ms. Alexander's child was [Thompson's] son, [he] would have" taken care of the boy "without hesitation."

Thompson also claimed that by deeming him a "deadbeat" dad, Alexander has potentially harmed his reputation and, in turn, his career. He noted that the majority of his contracts — such as his deal with the NBA — include clauses that allow those he works with to "terminate" their agreements if he "engage[s] in certain behavior or conduct that may cast the team or the brand in a negative light publicly." Because of that, he claims that he may have lost out on further opportunities because businesses may not think he's a suitable representative. That's why he was going after Alexander for a whopping $100,000.

Granted, things haven't turned out the way that Thompson was likely hoping.

This is why Tristan Thompson's lawsuit was denied (for now?)

It's hard to imagine anyone wanting to be involved in a lawsuit. However, Tristan Thompson apparently felt like it was necessary to sue Kimberly Alexander for potentially damaging his reputation by claiming that he wasn't caring for her child who she says is his son. TMZ broke down the situation after getting a look at legal documents from the case and noted that Thompson was "seeking a default judgment against Kimberly Alexander — the paternity accuser he sued for libel last year." He also wanted $100,000 from her to cover potential damages.

However, the outlet reported that additional legal documents showed that Thompson's "default judgment request has been denied due to some 'issues' that need to be corrected." While we don't know what exactly those "issues" are, the delay has currently put a stop to Thompson's lawsuit.

Although that may not stop the star from continuing to pursue the matter in court, for now, Alexander celebrated the development by taking to social media to post messages directed at both Thompson and Khloé Kardashian.

Kimberly Alexander was 'trolling' Tristan Thompson and Khloe Kardashian

The legal situation between Tristan Thompson and Kimberly Alexander may or may not be over. However, Bossip notes that she "has been counting [the] call by the judge as a victory." She's also "been doing some trolling" on Instagram.

In a now-deleted post, the outlet reported that Alexander shared a screenshot of TMZ's article and wrote, "Bd you have a whole other scandal out here!!! But I wrecked ur pay!?? 80 mill doesn't sound like I did [laughing emojis]. Anyways @khloekardashian Please get ur man to take that second [DNA] test his team kept denying ... What's done in the dark will come to light."

If you're curious about the mention of $80 million, that's how much Thompson will be getting after signing a five-year deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to the Bleacher Report, (or rather, $82 million). It's also an amount that seems to prove that his ability to make money may not have taken the hit that he's suggested. That's perhaps why Alexander added a second deleted message, bringing Khloé Kardashian into the mix in both posts. "DENIED ... Now let's get to the bottom of what's really going on @khloekardashian And yes I tagged her and what???"

Although those posts seem to have disappeared, Alexander also shared a rare photo of her son, adding a heart emoji and writing, "My handsome big boy." Hopefully, the adults involved remember that this little one's well-being is what really matters.
