Who Is Kyland Young From Big Brother?

Season 23 of "Big Brother" is already underway and with a new season comes new cast members who, ya know, move into the same house to compete for $500,000. Among the new competitors is Kyland Young. According to his CBS bio, Kyland currently lives in Venice Beach, Calif. and works as an Account Executive at "an app company that helps students find and win scholarships and other funds to help pay for their education."

When Kyland isn't working or competing on reality shows, he says his favorite activities are going to the movies and playing games like "chess, escape rooms, football, or poker, I LOVE to compete in pretty much any type of games!" he explained to CBS. He appears to especially love trying new activities and gave skydiving, surfing, and rock climbing as some examples. In fact, Kyland revealed that he went to skydiving school. The popcorn lover apparently loves a thrill since he's also done two firewalks where he walked across coals/embers that were hotter than 1,000 degrees.

Kyland frequently documents his adventures on his Instagram, where he currently has over 6,000 followers. In his bio, he states his life goal which is to "make the world a better place for all." He also reaches his fans through his podcast "Conversations With Kyland." With all that said, it appears that Kyland is a pretty interesting person, but will he be the one who wins "Big Brother?"

Kyland loves the competition aspect

In his CBS bio, Kyland Young describes himself as "optimistic, dynamic, and engaging," which may be qualities that help him on "Big Brother." As far as the show goes, Kyland said he's "most excited about playing the game." He explained, "I get excited about the competitions and the social strategies that can help you win! I have always been good at building relationships and being persuasive, however, to have those things gamified in a way that I can be ranked by how well I do it, is like an injection into my competitive blood!"

Kyland added that he has watched the show in the past and is a fan of Derrick Levasseur and Cody Calafiore from Season 16, as well as Tyler Crispen and Kaycee Clark from Season 20. As for his favorite past moment, Kyland revealed to CBS that he was "blown away by Dan's funeral play in Season 14." However, he admitted that it's hard "not knowing anything about what's happening with my family" whom he says he's "extremely close to."

Yet Kyland is in it to win it and says he's been "studying the game" and "preparing mentally and physically." He also dished that part of his strategy is to "not give away that I'm as good as I think I will be." While Kyland admits that it may sound arrogant, he believes, "the self-awareness I employ in my life in general makes me feel this is all possible."
