Who Is Brendan Morais' Ex-Wife?
Reality TV fans have been more than a little interested in Brendan Morais' love life ever since he became a bonafide member of Bachelor Nation. Showing up during Season 16 of "The Bachelorette," Us Weekly points out that Brendan wasn't in the first batch of contestants who were announced when Clare Crawley was leading the show, but was brought in with a fresh group of guys after pandemic-related complications temporarily put a halt to filming. While he didn't find love with Clare, that meant he was still around when Tayshia Adams took over.
Although Brendan and Tayshia definitely hit it off, he ended up admitting that he wasn't ready to make a commitment to her, per the Daily Mail. That's why he broke up with Tayshia and left the show. One of the reasons he may not have been prepared to tie the knot at that particular time is because — as he revealed while the cameras were rolling — he had been married before and gone through a divorce.
So who is the woman who Brendan married? Read on to find out!
Brendan Morais married his high school sweetheart
Those who watched Tayshia Adams' season of "The Bachelorette" may remember that Brendan Morais opened up about the details around both his former marriage and his eventual divorce. He told the reality TV star, "In my early 20s, I did get married. And it was a high school sweetheart situation. Our families had been close since elementary school."
Brendan noted that he and his ex-wife, who Us Weekly identified as Simone Santos, didn't divorce over anything like "cheating," "abuse, or addiction." However, while admitting that they "fell out of love," he also explained that his ex-wife didn't want to have children and he does. Although they went to therapy to try to address and work through their issues, they ended up feeling like splitting up was the best option for them both after less than two years. At the same time, Brendan noted that although he and his ex felt like they needed to explore their own lives, he added, "I didn't really know who I was without her, and she didn't really know who she was without me."
It may have been difficult for Brendan and Simone to find their own identities and paths without each other, but it looks like she's now enjoying life while doing what she really loves.
Simone Santos is a multitalented creative force
Brendan Morais may be living in the spotlight these days thanks to his involvement with Bachelor Nation, however, it turns out that his ex-wife, Simone Santos, isn't as eager to share every detail of her life with the world. Parade does note that she appeared to pop up in a 2013 YouTube video from singer Sam Alves who was watching his audition for Season 4 of "The Voice" with his family. In the caption, he wrote, "Sitting next to me is my cousin Simone Morais who was at the taping of my Blind audition. Her husband Brendan Morais is right next to her."
Beyond that, while Heavy points to what they claim is her Instagram account, she currently has her page set to private. However, her IG bio does tell us that Simone is a "shooter" (or photographer and cinematographer) for Si The Vision. The website explains that she's a self-taught "visual creative."
Granted, that's not all that Simone does. Along with her Instagram noting that she's a designer with MATA GAL clothing, she's also a samba dancer, according to Soul Brasil. "I chose to dance because it's one of my biggest passions and it's maybe the funnest jobs ever!" she told the outlet. "And I began designing because I love to create and I love to express myself through my clothing. ... I love to make clothes that help women to feel confident, sexy, and at their very best."
