The TLC show "Welcome to Plathville" will return for its third season on August 24, and the Plath family is looking as fractured as ever. The series follows a super-conservative, religious family headed by Kim and Barry Plath, who raised their nine children on a rural farm in Georgia without much exposure to the modern world. With unreasonable restrictions and an extremely sheltered worldview, the Plath children began to rebel against their surroundings, and the show became a hit with viewers after its premiere in 2019.
Season 1 of "Welcome to Plathville" introduced audiences to the nine Plath kids — Ethan, Hosanna, Micah, Moriah, Lydia, Issac, Amber, Cassia, and Mercy — and showed their lives under intense restrictions, which included no sugary drinks, television, or pop culture knowledge, per Us Weekly. Throughout the season, three of the eldest Plath kids — Ethan, Micah, and Moriah — decided to reclaim their agency and branch out and try new things, which upset their parents.

Micah Plath shocked his parents with his career choice
Micah Plath was 19 when he first appeared on Season 1 of "Welcome to Plathville," and he was adamant about breaking free of his parents' reign on his lifestyle. Per Showbiz Cheat Sheet, Micah began his first step to independence by announcing his desire to become a model, which of course, did not go over well with Kim and Barry. Micah often had to dress in stylish and provocative clothing while posing with female models on set, which shocked his conservative family members, but nothing could get in the way of his modeling dreams.
In Season 2, he explained his desire to feel good and look good was the reason he wanted to go into modeling. "When I was 13 or 14, I was in this 'ugly duckling' stage, and I've always been very self-conscious of my looks and my body," Micah said on the show. "I was shy around girls, just a shy little kid, and then I started to grow out of that." He added, "Modeling has really helped me become who I am and pushed [me] to become someone better."
Per Micah's Instagram, he frequently models shirtless and keeps his physique in shape with numerous gym sessions throughout the week. While Season 3 of "Welcome to Plathville" has yet to air, it seems like Micah's modeling journey will continue, as he revealed in the trailer that he "wants to take [it] to the next level."
Micah Plath might be a taken man
With his good looks and buff body, Micah Plath should have no problem finding a girlfriend — and it seems like he did. Screen Rant reported in April 2021 that Micah broke up with his previous girlfriend Caroline to be with fellow friend and model Helena Parrish. Fans noticed that Micah left several flirty messages on Helena's Instagram posts.
Helena played an important role in Micah's modeling journey, as she helped him get his foot in the door in the first season of "Welcome to Plathville." Helena posed with Micah on his first shoot and they became fast friends because of their common interests. Helena even revealed to Soap Dirt that she and Micah went on a date, but she denied that they were an item.
Fans will have to see if Helena's words are true about their relationship status in the upcoming season of "Welcome to Plathville," but Micah will surely continue to broaden his horizons as a model.
