Who is she?
You've probably heard of Cooper—whether it's from his role in The Hangover (2009) or his voice work as Rocket in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)—but do you know his girlfriend? Shayk is a Russian model, who, according to The Sun, has appeared in every Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue since 2004. She's also walked for top designers like Marc Jacobs and has even earned her wings in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. She even tried her hand at acting in the film Hercules (2014) alongside Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
When did they first start dating?
Cooper and Shayk were first spotted together in April 2015. The pair attended the Broadway show Finding Neverland together soon after breaking it off with their previous partners, Suki Waterhouse and Cristiano Ronaldo respectively. According to OK! magazine, Cooper was set up with Shayk by "his team," who presented him with photos of single attractive women from which to choose. Apparently, Shayk was the winner. After meeting, the two have been together ever since.
"They have been spending lots of time together these past few weeks and have had many date nights," a source told E! News in May 2015. "Their chemistry is crazy when they are together. They can't keep their hands off of each other."
When did they start getting serious?
Cooper and Shayk reportedly didn't waste any time before committing to their relationship. According to the Daily News, Cooper brought Shayk with him to a family barbecue in New Jersey in Sept. 2015, where they stayed overnight at his mother's house. That same month, E! News reported that the pair confessed their love for each other.
However, it wasn't until April 2016 that the couple finally shared their love on social media. Shayk posted a photo on Instagram of herself cozying up to Cooper in a pool—though she'd cropped their heads out of the photo. Still, that counts as a picture together, right?
Will they get married?
Only time will tell if these two lovebirds decide to tie the knot. In Nov. 2016, E! News reported that the pair had discussed marriage, but both Cooper and Shayk have remained private about their personal life together. However, engagement rumors circulated in Dec. 2016 after Shayk was seen sporting a sizable diamond and emerald ring, along with a noticeable baby bump. Unfortunately, no engagement was ever confirmed.
When did they have a baby?
In Nov. 2016, Nicki Swift reported that Cooper and Shayk were expecting a baby—and the pregnancy was likely planned. In March 2017, the couple welcomed their first child together but details about the family of three remain scarce. As is their M.O., Cooper and Shayk didn't share the news with the public. Rather, a source told People on April 10, 2017, that the pair gave birth to their child two weeks earlier.
We're probably going to have to wait a long time until we see some photos of the newborn—if the couple decides to release any at all. Still, we'll be keeping an eye on Shayk's Instagram account. Hopefully, the model will decide to release some personal photos among her dozens of professional modeling shots.
