However, when it comes to how and why Kidman fell for the man who would become her husband, pretty much anyone can relate or, at least, understand. You'll surely agree when you hear what Kidman had to say about what went down. "I know you love New York, and it's a very special place for you. You got engaged here, I know that," Jimmy Fallon told Kidman while she appeared on "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon" for a long-distance chat on September 21. After Kidman noted jokingly that he's "not meant to know that," the host went on to ask, "When did Keith Urban just sweep you off your feet? When did you know?"
Kidman then opened up about a romantic moment she shared with Urban, saying, "He sat on the stoop of my New York apartment. I came out [at] 5 a.m. in the morning, and it was my birthday, and he had flowers." She admitted, "And that was it. I was a goner. I'm like, 'Yes I'll marry you!'" If that sounds like Kidman had no doubt in her mind — or her heart — at all when it comes to the fact that she was meant to be with Urban, it turns out that he feels the same way.

While Nicole Kidman was apparently sure that she was meant to be with Keith Urban, he also knew that they were made for each other. And just like his wife, he's been willing to open up about the way that he feels about his wife. While chatting with Dax Shepard for the actor's "Armchair Expert" podcast during an episode that went live on September 15, 2020, the host asked Urban about what made him want to "[rise] to the occasion" in order to be with Kidman.
"That's what happened, definitely," Urban said, confirming that he, indeed, felt like he needed to step up in order to be with the woman he cared for so much. He also explained why, saying, "She's just the one, that was it. She's the one that I was searching for my whole life ..." Going on to say that "It felt like an ultimate fork-in-the-road moment in [his] life," he explained, "It was literally like, 'You either get this right now, or you are never, ever going to get it right. This is your one shot.'"
"I knew where I was going, and I was going into the light, finally," Urban said, getting adorably deep about his love for his wife and their relationship together. That's why he added, "It was everything I was looking for and then some. Beyond, just beyond."
