A Look At Jake Paul's Dating History

Jake Paul has come a long way from his days on the now-defunct video social media app Vine and his time on the Disney Channel. The former "Bizaardvark" star has made a name for himself thanks to his over-the-top videos on YouTube. When the Cleveland, Ohio, native wasn't pulling pranks or causing controversies, he was making rap music alone or alongside Team 10, which was a hub for influencers he launched in 2017.

These days, however, it appears that Paul is putting his focus on his professional boxing career. The YouTuber has been boxing since 2018 and uses his usual attention-seeking antics to get publicity for his fights. When he's not boxing or trying to make headlines, it appears that Paul is spending time with his on-again-off-again girlfriend, "The Sh*t Show" podcast host and model Julia Rose (via New York Post). The two frequently gush about each other on social media.

In fact, Paul has spent most of his career flaunting his relationships. It seems he has used several of his past romances as ways to make content whether through YouTube videos, music, or TV shows. Paul has even gone as far as to fake relationships and even a wedding, strictly for entertainment purposes. While it's still hazy about which of Paul's ex-girlfriends were the real deal, most of them came with their fair share of drama, which usually played out online. So let's break down the wild ride that is Jake Paul's relationship history.

Jake Paul dated an actor when he moved to Los Angeles

Jake Paul's first high-profile relationship was in 2014 when he was just 17-years-old. The boxer explained in a YouTube video titled, "A Conversation with My Ex-girlfriend"  that he dated actor Saxon Sharbino when he first moved to Los Angeles. While Sharbino wasn't one of Paul's usual YouTube romances (since they were together before he created his channel), she appeared in the TV series "Touch" and "Freakish."

While the two didn't work out romantically, Paul revealed that he and Sharbino managed to stay friends over the years. Apparently, Sharbino was only Paul's second girlfriend ever after they'd met at her birthday party. It's unclear who his first was but it's safe to assume that it was someone from his hometown since he revealed, "I was like nervous to go to your birthday party. It was literally the first night I lived in Los Angeles ... I remember I was like, 'Oh my god, she's so hot.'"

The attraction was mutual since Sharbino told Paul, "I was impressed with your confidence." Yet the two didn't last and it seems that neither really remembers why. Sharbino explained, "When we broke up I didn't actually think we were going to break up because I texted him something like 'I'm just not the girl for you.' And you were like 'okay.'" But it appears they both remember their time together fondly. Sharbino dished, "We had a very sweet, innocent relationship."

Jake Paul had a rocky relationship with Alissa Violet

If there's one word to describe Jake Paul's relationship with Alissa Violet, it's definitely rocky. In a tell-all YouTube video, Violet explained she met Paul when she was only 18-years-old after he and his brother, Logan, made an appearance at an Ohio mall. The two exchanged numbers and from there, Paul eventually convinced Violet to move to Los Angeles to join his influencer group Team 10.

While they never officially dated, Violet explained they "were kind of together." She dished, "I was head over heels for this kid ... I would do anything for him." Things took a turn in 2017 when, according to J-14, Violet Snapchatted Paul kicking her out of the Team 10 house. In a now-deleted tweet, Paul claimed "Jalissa WAS real" and accused her of cheating. Violet responded by tweeting, "How could Jalissa be real when he had girl after girl over every single night in front of me?"

Apparently, a Twitter war wasn't enough and each felt the need to release diss tracks about each other, (yes, you read that right). They then individually sat down with Shane Dawson where Violet accused Paul of abuse and admitted to hooking up with Logan for revenge. Paul, on the other hand, told Dawson that he wasn't "mature enough to know how to be a boyfriend," adding, "we just drove each other mad." In 2019, Paul released another song and tell-all video about Violet, revealing there are no longer hard feelings.

Jake Paul and Tessa Brooks hinted at a brief romance

It seems that Jake Paul quickly moved on from Alissa Violet to her former bestie and fellow Team 10 member, Tessa Brooks. While the two never officially dated (we're sensing a theme here with Paul) Brooks and Paul were rumored to be together briefly in 2017. Seventeen reports that Violet made it clear that she and Brooks were no longer BFFs when she photoshopped Brooks out of a photo allegedly after Brooks decided to remain friends with Paul following he and Violet's breakup.

Brooks then got back at Violet by joining Paul on his diss track toward Violet (we can't make this stuff up). In her lyrics, Brooks seemingly makes fun of Violet for having worked at Panera while bragging about how close she had gotten with Paul in that she "smells like his cologne." Outside of that song, it appears that Brooks and Paul were pretty low key about their relationship since there isn't much else known about their time together.

However, according to Teen Vogue, in July 2017, Paul was under fire after a video showed him shoving Brooks into a wall. While Paul appeared to be joking, some fans believed he took it too far. Eventually, Brooks decided to leave Team 10 in 2018. In true YouTuber fashion, she uploaded a video about it where she explained, "We just disagree on a lot of things. Things just aren't how they used to be" (via Metro). And just like that Brooks and Paul rumors were history.

Erika Costell 'changed' Jake Paul's life

While Jake Paul had a few unofficial girlfriends, his romance with Erika Costell seemed to be more legit by his standards. "Jerika," as they were known to fans, got together in late 2017 after Paul asked her out at a Miami Heat basketball game, according to Distractify. The two went on to, of course, create several YouTube videos together, (what are relationships for if not that), and even released a song about their love.

Yet Costell insisted that their romance wasn't just for the cameras. She told fellow YouTuber Shane Dawson, "It started as fake, but I don't think it was ever fake... we got married the first day I joined Youtube, so obviously people are going to have that." As for Paul, he told People, "She's just like a homie. She makes me laugh and I can be myself around her."

However, Paul eventually explained on Twitter that it "became apparent to us ... that we could no longer be boyfriend and girlfriend," adding that "while it was a truly heartbreaking decision, it is the healthiest thing for both of us." And unlike how he left things with some exes, it seems the two ended on good terms since he even wrote, "Erika is such a beautiful soul and she truly changed my life," in his breakup post. It's clear they maintained a friendship because in 2019 they were seen having lunch – although that lunch date was when Paul was "married" to another woman. And so, the drama continues.

Jake Paul married Tana Mongeau... sort of

Perhaps Jake Paul's most famous relationship was with fellow YouTube sensation/ wild child Tana Mongeau. And true to Paul's style, the whole thing basically played out online, with the couple even releasing "Jana" merchandise, (yes, another couple nickname), soon after announcing their relationship in April 2019, according to People. About a month later, Paul proposed to Mongeau at her 21st birthday party. However, like Paul's past relationships, fans questioned the validity of their romance since "Jana" themselves at times even hinted it was all for clout. Paul even said in a video, "This whole thing with Tana is like escalating ... It's real, but it's also not. But it also is, so it's weird, man."

Yet, the two went through with their wedding in July 2019, potentially since they were filming the whole thing for MTV and live-streaming it on Halogen for a price. But the couple never actually made their marriage legal. Mongeau admitted in a video, "I really wouldn't want to do it on paper, because I think that legally binding yourself to someone takes away the love."

Sadly, their decision to have an "open relationship" eventually became too much for Mongeau. She explained in another video, "I think I just put so much of myself into Jake that I lost myself," adding, "the second Jake and I got married, everything changed." The couple soon after announced they were taking a break but it appeared to be more permanent than just some time apart.

Jake Paul and Tana Mongeau aren't on good terms

"Jana" fans knew that things weren't looking good for Jake Paul and Tana Mongeau when Mongeau uploaded an emotional YouTube video about their relationship where she confessed she was unhappy. She didn't blame Paul but instead explained, "I was the one green-lighting everything because I just wanted to make him happy. And letting it kill me." Mongeau also talked about their demise on her MTV show, revealing, "I feel like Jake has been slowly ... transforming into a different person ... I'm sitting here like ... 'I don't even f**king know you anymore.'"

When the couple did announce their split, they appeared to be on good terms since Paul posted on Instagram "as Tana and I sit next to each other writing captions about taking a break we're literally laughing at how crazy and stupid the past couple months have been." Yet just days later, Paul told Entertainment Tonight, "I fell in love with boxing, and I fell out of love with Tana." As harsh as that was, he did add, "I'll always love her. I think we're just better off as friends."

But things got worse in August 2021 when Paul joked about getting "fake married to a sloth" in a TikTok about his losses. Mongeau responded to the insult by saying, "I just don't think it's a very nice way to act ... I can't lie if I say it doesn't hurt me and upset me." So it looks like "Jana" may not be friends after all.

Jake Paul and Julia Rose's relationship had a bumpy start

Like Jake Paul himself, his next girlfriend, Julia Rose, knows a thing or two about clout-chasing. The model had appeared on MTV's "Are You the One?" and is known for flashing the camera at a 2019 World Series game to promote her erotic magazine. Paul announced he was dating Rose on Instagram in March 2020, by posting a photo of them kissing and captioning it, "first video back is out now feat. new jeep – new content – new girlfriend – new life."

But just days later, the couple had already split, with Paul revealing in his brother's YouTube video, "I'm hungover, depressed, and heartbroken because my girlfriend dumped me because I'm a f**king idiot." He continued, "Julia if you're watching this, please take me back." The rumors were that Paul cheated on Rose. She then quickly moved on to "Too Hot to Handle" star Harry Jowsey.

Yet things with Jowsey weren't much better since he later told The Hollywood Fix that Rose had cheated on him with Paul. He added, "If she has to use me to get back with someone that she is happy around then that's fine." Paul responded by telling No Comment, "I think he's a little delusional." Rose also spoke about Jowsey on Logan Paul's podcast saying, "It was super, super fast and a lot of different red flags came up." Whether Jowsey was telling the truth or not, Rose did get back with her ex after all.

Jake Paul finally met his match in Julia Rose

Julia Rose may be "the one" for Jake Paul since the two found their way back to each other after previously splitting. In July 2021, the couple confirmed their reconciliation on ET with Rose denying that Paul cheated and claiming that he won her back after "a Facetime call." Soon after came the engagement rumors when Rose changed her Instagram handle to Julia Rose Paul and tweeted, "forget hot girl summer.... I'm ready for wifey winter."

Paul cleared up that gossip, however, on the "3 Things to Know with Stephanie Haney" podcast saying, "We are not married. But I see that coming, for sure." He continued to suggest a wedding would happen sooner than later by adding, "I got her a nice promise-ring-slash-pre-engagement ring. I plan on proposing sometime soon."

For now, the two will probably just continue to flaunt their romance on Instagram. In August alone, Rose posted three photos of herself kissing or hugging Paul. On one she wrote, "can't wait to kiss your 4-0 face," in another she posted, "DON'T EVER DOUBT MY MAN," and in another, she simply captioned it, "baby." Paul, for his part, chose more risqué photos of Rose for his grid. It seems that Paul finally found his match in Rose, someone who is just as open and almost as controversial as him. Fans will just have to wait and see if a wedding between the two happens, but if it's anything like Paul's past, it'll probably be available online.
