The Real Reason Kylie Minogue Is Moving Back To Australia

Australian star Kylie Minogue may have risen to fame in the 1980s when playing the role of Charlene Robinson in the soap opera "Neighbors," but that did not stop her from pursuing a music career that took off outside her home country.

One particular market Minogue conquered was the UK, which embraced her as an all-around entertainer. According to The Official Charts, the "I Should Be So Lucky" hitmaker has achieved seven chart-topping singles and a total of 34 Top 10 hits. Along with those impressive figures, she has spent 487 weeks in the Top 75, as of this writing. Minogue's success in the UK does not stop there, however. On the albums chart, she has scored herself eight No. 1 albums. In 2020, she released her 13th studio record, "Disco," which debuted in the top spot, proving the country still has plenty of love for the Aussie-born icon. In 2002, Minogue also won big at the BRIT Awards, taking home Best International Female Solo Artist and Best International Album for "Fever," per BBC.

With such acceptance in the UK, Minogue has lived there for 30 years, but she has reportedly decided to move out of the country and return back to Australia, per Mirror UK. Here's what we know.

Kylie Minogue has been thinking about moving for some time

After calling the UK her home for 30 years, pop singer Kylie Minogue has decided to move back to Australia, according to Mirror UK. An inside source told the publication that the "Red Blooded Woman" hitmaker had been thinking of making this change for some time and that it's not a last-minute decision. "This year, when she was in Australia for an extended period due to travel restrictions, it gave her time to think about where she wants to be based," they said, adding, "Like many artists, she spends much of her life on the road or traveling so she doesn't anticipate that this is a major change for her as she's never in one place for a long time anyway."

"Covid has given her a lot of time to think about the future and she wants to see more of her family in the times when she isn't traveling, and so she will use Australia as her base," the inside source continued. Even though the award-winning star may not have moved back down under yet, her service address for her four main businesses has changed to an address in Haw-thorn, a suburb of Melbourne.

Minogue's parents, Carol and Ron, and siblings, Brendan and Dannii, all live in Australia, as well her nephew Ethan Edward Minogue Smith. However, she previously stated her boyfriend, Paul Solomons, will likely not want to move while appearing on an episode of Jessie Ware's "Table Manners" podcast, per Mirror UK.
