Amanda Kloots had one of most difficult years of her life in 2020 after her husband, Nick Cordero, died due to complications from COVID-19. But now, more than a year after his death, the TV host and "Dancing With the Stars" contestant is ready to put herself out there. She opened up about dating again during a recent episode of "The Talk" — which she co-hosts — in which she shared details about her previous dating habits and how "very hard" it is to move on.
"I just started dating again and it is so crazy to be dating for the first time at 39 years old," Kloots said (per Entertainment Tonight). "And it's quite terrifying and really out of your element, and it's just hard. It is hard." She added, "It's all wonderful. It's wonderful people I'm meeting, and it's been a great process so far."
The mom-of-one also talked about how her why her last two relationships didn't involve dating, revealing, "Both of my husbands, I met doing Broadway shows. We became friends first, then we got married. Obviously with Nick, we had a child," she said. (Kloots and Cordero welcomed son Elvis in June 2019, months before the coronavirus pandemic.) "I've never actually had to date," she added. And as Kloots revealed, she was married to another man before meeting the love of her life.

Not many people know that before Nick Cordero, Amanda Kloots was previously married to a man named David Larsen. In 2018, the Broadway actor shared details about the end of her marriage and how lost she felt in an essay for Time. "I found my marriage unexpectedly and abruptly ending after seven years," she wrote. "Just six months before it seemed like everything was about to fall into place, now everything was falling apart." Kloots added, "I found myself in my 30s, without a job, without a husband and without a plan."
So, who is Kloots' first husband? As she mentioned on "The Talk," Larsen is a former actor who starred on several Broadway shows, as well as being credited in projects like a short filmed called "Grind." According to his IMDb page, he hasn't starred in anything else since, but his Instagram reveals he now works as a realtor.
Larsen has also since gotten remarried. He tied the knot with Emilee Dupré and welcomed his first child — daughter Eleanor Rose — in May. Based on his social media, Kloots' ex enjoys walks in nature and spending time with his dog and family.

She opened up about the timeline via Instagram, writing, "At 32, I went through an unexpected divorce, felt completely lost and terrified for my future." And as fate would have it, she met the late star while working on the Broadway show, "Bullets Over Broadway." She also noted in her message, "We were friends first and then fell in love."
According to Entertainment Tonight, in her memoir "Live Your Life: My Story of Loving and Losing Nick Cordero," Kloots writes that she was "happily married" to David Larsen — and it was while he was away on tour that they decided to end their relationship. Though she and Larson were broken up, she began a secret romance with Cordero before she was officially divorced. "Everyone told me that it was too soon to be dating someone. That I needed time alone to heal and figure things out — Nick said that more than anyone," Kloots wrote. "But I always told them that being with Nick made me happy, and at that time, I needed to do things that made me happy."
She found her happiness in Cordero, and it looks like Larsen found his, too.
