Where Do Alyssa Milano And Shannen Doherty Stand Today?

Alyssa Milano and Shannen Doherty's years-long feud might be over. As fans of "Charmed" will recall, the two co-starred on the '90s hit show — Milano played Phoebe Halliwell, while Doherty's role was the one of eldest sister Prue (via IMDb). However, their troubled on-set relationship allegedly caused Doherty to leave the TV show in May 2001 after only three seasons.

"There was too much drama on the set and not enough passion for the work," Doherty told Entertainment Tonight (via Us Weekly) following her "Charmed" departure. Though she didn't really mention Milano, she did allude to the purported pettiness. "You know, I'm 30 years old and I don't have time for drama in my life anymore." Meanwhile, Milano admitted that she and Doherty just couldn't click.

"I think it's hard when you put ... two very different people together," she told Entertainment Weekly in 2001. "I'm very laid-back and passive. I have my Buddha," she continued. "[Shannen's] got a lot of energy, she's very headstrong, she wants to get the job done." Apparently, tensions ran so high that the two completely stopped acknowledging each other on set. "There were times when I'd come in and say, 'Good morning, Shannen,' and she didn't say anything to me," Milano once revealed, via E! News. "And there were times when she'd come in and say, 'Good morning, Alyssa,' and I wouldn't say anything to her." But now, 20 years later, are the former "Charmed" sisters still at odds?

Alyssa Milano says her and Shannon Doherty are 'cordial' and slighty regrets the past

On October 26, Alyssa Milano sat down with ET Online to discuss her upcoming book, "Sorry Not Sorry." The former "Charmed" actor was asked where she stands with ex-co-star Shannen Doherty, two decades after her departure from the popular show. "I would say we are cordial," Milano said. Then, the actor acknowledged the part she played in fueling the drama back in the day.

"You know, I could take responsibility for a lot of our tension that we had," she admitted. "I think a lot of our struggle came from feeling that I was in competition rather than it being that sisterhood that the show was so much about. And I have some guilt about my part in that." In 2015, Doherty was diagnosed with breast cancer, for which she underwent a mastectomy as well as radiation and chemotherapy, per USA Today. The former "Beverly Hills 90210" star's health struggles struck a nerve with Milano, who decided to send her a message after years of silence.

"When I heard about her diagnosis, I reached out to her," Milano told ET. She also added that they keep in touch with one another. "I will send her DMs every couple of months to just check in," she continued. "I have respect for her. Great actress, loves her family so much, and I just wish I could've felt strong enough in who I was to recognize that back then."
