Celebs That Act Exactly Like Their Zodiac Sign

Astrology is followed by people from all walks of life, and the rich and famous are no exception. The immensely popular occult science has embedded itself in pop culture and has found many devoted believers in a world full of skeptics.

While there are several factors to consider when it comes to deciphering each individual person's full birth chart, most people at least know their sun signs, our most predominant sign. Astrologer Ashley Otero explained to Bustle, "Astrologically speaking, the sun in a natal chart is the luminary that symbolizes one's vital life force, spirit, intellect, and identity." Many celebs are open and proud of their signs, at times even looking for artistic inspiration in their connection with the stars. Meanwhile, others seem to display their sun sign's personality traits in the spotlight without directly acknowledging the influence of astrology. And sure, people can't be over-simplified, but sometimes zodiac signs inexplicably and eerily explain us — both to ourselves and to those around us.

Let's take a closer look at celebrities who accurately embody the characteristics of their assigned astrological identity.

Beyonce reigns as Virgo queen

If you're a Beyoncé fan, you likely already know she's a Virgo, born September 4. She's open about her connection with her sign. The "Single Ladies'" singer told Dazed & Confused (via Hip Hop Wired): "I am a Virgo to the tee!" before listing qualities like having unreasonably high expectations and being detail-oriented and critical. Virgos also "emit serenity and calm," according to Cosmopolitan. This lines up with what Laverne Cox told Stephen Colbert about her experience meeting Beyoncé (whom she calls "the queen"), saying, "The interesting thing about when you meet the queen, a calm comes over you."

Those born under the sign of the Maiden are typically introverted and shy. Beyoncé confirmed this trait in Harper's Bazaar, stating, "Because I was an introvert, I didn't speak very much as a child. I spent a lot of time in my head building my imagination. I am now grateful for those shy years of silence. Being shy taught me empathy and gave me the ability to connect and relate to people."

While she doesn't consider herself shy anymore, she still is very guarded and private, adding, "A lot of who I am is reserved for the people I love and trust. Those who don't know me and have never met me might interpret that as being closed off. Trust, the reason those folks don't see certain things about me is because my Virgo a** does not want them to see it."

Lil Nas X embodies the boldness of Aries

Aries are known for being bold and like to come first. So the fact that Lil Nas X is an Aries should come as no surprise, considering his outgoing personality, boundary-pushing videos and fashion choices, and his love for reigning as No. 1 on the charts.

Like a true Aries, the "Old Town Road" hitmaker (born April 9) is a hard-headed ram who likes to prove people wrong and loves to come out on top. When his song, "Call Me By Your Name" reached No. 1, he tweeted, "I hope my haters are sad. I hope they are crying. I want your tears to fill my grammy cup." Ruled by Mars, Aries are also brutally honest, like when the rapper-singer told GQ, "Part of my plan is to make sure people know I'm going to do whatever the f*** I want when I want to, and if you're mad at it, I'm going to laugh in your face."

But Aries also have a fun and humorous side. According to Allure, "When these brazen rams are not flying off the handle, they're upbeat, positive, and playful creatures who enjoy living life to the fullest." Take one glance at Lil Nas X's Instagram and you'll see how true this is: when he's not posting thirst traps, it's either hilarious memes or positive affirmations. "I want to have fun, I want to cause chaos sometimes. I want a long, legendary, fun life," he said, summing up his Aries attitude to The Wall Street Journal.

Timothee Chalamet is a career-driven Capricorn

As an Earth sign, Capricorns are humble, practical, and authentic. A good fit for Timothée Chalamet, a star who is known for being his unabashedly awkward (albeit adorable) self. "For better or worse, people know what a goofball I am," he admitted to Vulture. But that's the thing about Capricorns: they don't seem to let fame or success change their down-to-earth personalities.

A career-oriented sign, Capricorns are represented by the goat, and like goats, they slowly climb up the mountain, keeping their eye on the prize of success while patiently staying hyper-focused on their goals. Chalamet, whose birthday falls on December 27, told Time that he had "a marathon mentality" about his career, a trademark of Capricorns.

Capricorns are also pragmatic masters of their own fate and "meticulous in creating their own destiny" (via Nylon). Fittingly, when asked if he believed in fate and destiny in an interview with It's Gone Viral, the "Dune" star responded by saying, "You could be the master of your fate, you can be the captain of your soul, but you have to realize that life is coming from you and not at you. And that takes time."

Lizzo gives off serious Taurus vibes

Another Earth sign, Taureans are known for being grounded and earthy. Ruled by Venus, Taurean women exude a goddess-like sensuality and, according to Cosmopolitan, are "happy in their own skin." Which is why body-positive and self-confident Lizzo, born April 27, seems to exemplify her sign so well.

The "Truth Hurts" singer even wants to take body positivity a step further, telling Vogue, "I think it's lazy for me to just say I'm body positive at this point. It's easy. I would like to be body-normative. I want to normalize my body." Taureans are very connected to their bodies, so it makes sense that Lizzo would want to feel comfortable and at home in her body and inspire others to rethink their notions of their corporeal beings. In her song, "My Skin," she sings, "I woke up in this / In my skin / I can't wash it away, so you can't take it from me."

According to Astrology.com, "With the influence of Venus over their lives, those born under the sign of the Bull are naturally connected to the beauty of the earth, and the sensuality of their own bodies." Appropriately, Lizzo celebrated the beginning of Taurus season in 2021 by posting an unedited nude, makeup-less selfie to her Instagram.

Winona Ryder reps Scorpio's flare for the spooky

Scorpio is the sign of Spooky Season, so it makes sense that Winona Ryder, who is famous for her role in films like "Beetlejuice," "Edward Scissorhands," and "Stranger Things," is a Scorpio. The actor, born October 29, has even been called "The Undisputed Queen of Halloween," according to BuzzFeed

Her Scorpio-ness is seemingly exemplified even more by her role as Mina Harker in "Bram Stoker's Dracula," arguably one of the most Scorpio movies ever made due to its visual encapsulation of the novel's hypnotic prose and lustful energy (Stoker, the author of Dracula, was also fittingly a Scorpio). As explained by Astrology.com, Scorpios are "drawn toward dark, taboo, or occult subjects, and are curious about the hidden facets of life that others may shy away from." It makes sense, then, that a Scorpio like Ryder would be drawn to projects that explore occult and supernatural themes.

Scorpios are also extremely private, even secretive, individuals. They "guard themselves and their private lives fiercely," according to Cosmopolitan, and Ryder also happens to be a very private person who doesn't use social media. The reason Scorpios are so guarded is because, as water signs, they tend to be extremely sensitive and need to protect themselves at all times. In an interview with Women.com (via Winona Forever), Ryder called herself "way too sensitive for this insane world," seemingly the gift and the curse of the Scorpio. However, unlike their water sign companions (Pisces and Cancer), Scorpios protect their sensitive souls with the dark power and intensity of a Scorpion's stinger.

Harry Styles is the essential Aquarian

"Free-spirited and eccentric," "nonconformist attitude," and "identified by their offbeat fashion sensibilities" — these are some of the key traits of Aquarians, according to Allure. And these characteristics are a fitting description for Harry Styles, as well, an Aquarius born February 1.

The former One Direction singer is known for challenging gender expectations with fashion — like the time he wore a ball gown on the cover of Vogue — and his refusal to label his sexuality points towards the apparent Aquarian influence on his personality. He told L'Officiel, "Many borders are falling — in fashion, but also in music, films, and art ... We no longer need to be this or that. I think now, people are just trying to be good. In fashion and other fields, these parameters are no longer as strict as before, and it gives rise to great freedom. It's stimulating." Like a true Aquarian, Styles resists being confined by convention or traditional labels.

According to Astrology.com, "Those of the Aquarius zodiac sign are humanitarian, philanthropic, and keenly interested in making the world a better place." Styles lives up to this aspect of the sign through his charitable actions (like the time he raised $1.2 million for charity on tour) and consistently supporting LGBTQ+ rights, while always reminding everyone to "Treat People with Kindness."

Kim Kardashian's major Libra energy

Libras tend to be obsessed with beauty and appearances and are considered the "aesthetes of the zodiac," according to Allure. As a beauty business mogul (with her makeup company and shapewear brand), it makes sense Kim Kardashian is a Libra (born October 21). Libras also adore money, and Kardashian admitted in an interview with Vogue Arabia that she was not only "obsessed with fame," but that for her, "Money was always the goal."

But her connection to her sign isn't just skin deep. That's because Libras are also associated with balance and justice and are represented by the Justice card in the Tarot, the card of legal matters and law. True to her Libra energy, Kardashian has been studying to become a lawyer. "Hopefully one day I can start a law firm where we can help people pro bono and hire people who were formerly incarcerated," she told The Wall Street Journal.

Beneath Libra's seemingly superficial surface, there is an intelligent and truth-seeking mind. As Kardashian herself stated in Vogue Arabia, "There is a misconception that I don't actually have to study and that I've bought my way into getting a law degree — that's absolutely not true. ... Being underestimated and over-delivering is my vibe." Indeed, even before she started studying law, this member of the KarJenner clan often acted as a peacemaker in her reality-star family.

Taylor Swift is a proud Sagittarius

Born December 13, Taylor Swift is devoted to being a Sagittarius and even wrote a song called "The Archer," which happens to be the symbol of the Sagittarius. "I'm an archer. We literally stand back, assess the situation, process how we feel about it, raise a bow, pull it back, and fire," Swift told Rolling Stone.

She further explained to Vibe, "I'm a Sagittarius, which means, you know, I'm blindly optimistic, I love to travel, I'm always up for adventure but also always want something new. Sagittarians are really independent, and we like our space. We're drawn to love but battle for that need for independence." While their persistent optimism may come off as naivety, Sagittarians tend to just aim to see the best in humanity. "Every day I try to remind myself of the good in the world, the love I've witnessed and the faith I have in humanity," Swift wrote in a piece for Elle.

Sags are typically also brutally honest folks. Appropriately, Swift once said (via Marie Claire), "Keeping your emotions all locked up is something that's unfair to you. When you clearly know how you feel. You should say it."

Drew Barrymore represents Pisces

Sensitive, idealistic, and sometimes perceived as spacey, Drew Barrymore (born February 22) seems to represent Pisces well. Her Piscean, playful disposition can be seen on full display in her talk show, "The Drew Barrymore Show." Vanity Fair wrote that the series had "enough sunny warmth and perceived authenticity to rival even the most vintage [Ellen] DeGeneres segment." Pisces' faces also tend to be "characteristically full and childlike," according to Nylon. Even at age 46, as of this writing, the little girl who once lit up the screen in "E.T." is still extremely visible in Barrymore's face.

But Barrymore's life hasn't always been full of sunshine. She's open about her past struggle with addiction, a struggle that isn't uncommon for Pisceans. An astrologer for Nylon explained, "Emotional restlessness and electric hypersensitivity can lead to self-medication, ultimately leading many Pisces down the dark path of addiction and self-destruction." Those born under Pisces, then, may have to look out for their own mental health and make self-care a priority.

Barrymore summed herself up in an interview with The U.S. Sun by saying, "I'm an imperfect, messy, silly person who's desperate to figure it out and not get to the end of my life not having worked really hard on myself." We're sure other Pisceans can relate.

If you or anyone you know is struggling with addiction issues, help is available. Visit the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration website or contact SAMHSA's National Helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357).

Madonna is an obvious Leo

Perhaps the most extroverted sign, Leos are natural-born entertainers, leaders, and like to possess all the power in the room. So it's no surprise that Madonna, who once said her dream was "to rule the world," is a Leo (born August 16). "There's an unmistakably regal air to Solar Leos," notes Cafe Astrology. And of course, "The Queen of Pop" is nothing short of pop culture royalty.

Leos tend to demand attention and can often be labeled as egotistical. Madonna even admitted in an interview with "60 Minutes," "If I didn't have a huge ego, I wouldn't be here." Like Madonna, Leos tend to be self-aware of their conceit and, at their best, try to use the power of their ego for good — to grab people's attention in order to not only establish their own success, but to also make positive change, as Cafe Astrology explains.

Leos are represented by the lion and like lions, they are typically extremely protective of their family or pack — so much so that they can come off as possessive. This definitely checks out with Madonna, considering her daughter, Lourdes Leon, revealed in an October 2021 chat for Interview magazine what Madonna is like as a mother: "My mom is such a control freak, and she has controlled me my whole life."

Kanye West is admittedly 'the ultimate Gemini'

Kanye West, born June 8, possesses the duality and chaotic energy of Gemini, but also the knack for self-expression. In the song "Saint Pablo," he even called himself "the ultimate Gemini" — and he definitely demonstrates many of the personality traits of his sun sign.

Geminis sometimes get a bad rap for being inconsistent and have even been called "low-key psychopaths" (at least, per Nylon). But on his track "Feedback," West posed the challenge: "Name one genius that ain't crazy." And it's true that Geminis may seem erratic at times, but they are also intelligent and extremely creative, as West has certainly proven to be (he has been cited as one of the most influential artists of the early 21st Century by multiple publications, including Pitchfork and Spin). Per Astrology.com, Geminis "have a surplus of imagination waiting to be tapped," and as West once appropriately tweeted, "Just be still and enjoy your own imagination. It's better than any movie."

West has also connected his bipolar disorder diagnosis to his zodiac sign, once explaining to David Letterman on "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction" (via E!), "What I want to say about the bipolar thing is because it has the word 'bi' in it, it has the idea of, like, split personality. Well, that works for me because I'm a Gemini."

Lana Del Rey is clearly a Cancer

While Lana Del Rey was once mistakenly believed to be a Gemini due to her on-the-cusp solstice birthday (June 21), she set the record straight that she is actually a Cancer, which makes much more sense. As one of the three water signs, Cancers are notoriously deep, emotional, and extremely sensitive.

Their sensitivity, however, can sometimes lead them to be defensive (the sign is represented by the crab, and they do have two pincers, after all), a trait Del Rey is known for — like when she preemptively defended her album cover in 2021, or that time she attempted to correct NPR's Ann Powers' criticisms of her, writing in a since-deleted tweet at the critic, "I don't even relate to one observation you made about the music. ... To write about me is nothing like it is to be with me."

The thing is: Cancers hate to think they've been misunderstood (Del Rey even did a cover of The Animals' "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood") and are known to point out when they think others are being unfair to them. Anyway, who else but a Cancer could write songs like "Summertime Sadness," croon lyrics like "I'm pretty when I cry," sing "I'm a sad girl" over 16 times in one song, and sum up the Cancer struggle so perfectly with, "I'm feeling all my f***ing feelings"?

Dolly Parton is a business savvy Capricorn to a T

Like a model Capricorn, Dolly Parton (born January 19) had ambitious dreams and didn't stop until she achieved them all, building a slew of successful businesses every step of the way. She came from poverty and climbed her way to the top with grace and humility in the way only a level-headed Capricorn can.

"Life is one big project for [Capricorns], and they adapt to this by adopting a businesslike approach to most everything they do," according to Astrology.com. And Parton has certainly always treated her fame like a business. "There's no such thing as just being a star," she once told Knox News. "You have got to look at the business end." While the singer-songwriter has undeniably reached complete icon status, she has always stayed true to her roots like the Earth sign she is, and even used her Capricorn business acumen to revive her hometown in Appalachia (her theme park, Dollywood, is the area's largest employer).

When Parton filled out "The Proust Questionnaire" for Vanity Fair, Capricorn-like answers abounded, like when she said she disliked "laziness" more than anything, she hated when people are late to appointments, and when she said her heroes were, "Everyone who gets up every day, puts on their boots or high heels, and gets to working on what they love to do."

Britney Spears is a freedom-seeking Sagittarius

If you follow Britney Spears on social media, you know she's optimistic and loves to travel, both traits of a Sagittarius. She even said in a 2019 Instagram video, "I'm a Sagittarius; I'm very keen on freedom. I love freedom, I love independence, I don't like to be tied down, I like to travel."

Knowing Spears is a freedom-loving Sagittarius may put an even more poignant spin on the "#FreeBritney" movement, perhaps revealing how difficult it must have been to have her freedom constantly threatened by her conservatorship, and to have restrictions that limited her travel time. Often mistaken as naïve, Sagittarians actually tend to be extremely strong individuals who can overcome personal challenges with the strength of positivity and the precision of an archer. Co-Star, for example, notes that their "boundless optimism is infectious."

Indeed, despite the adversaries she's faced in life, Spears — who was born on December 2 — has always tried to project optimism, consistently reposting inspiring and funny quotes. She also told her fans in a since-deleted Instagram post (via W magazine): "I do what I can in my own spirituality with myself to try and keep my own joy ... love ... and happiness !!!! Every day dancing brings me joy !!! I'm not here to be perfect ... perfect is boring ... I'm here to pass on kindness."

Adam Driver is such a Scorpio

Born November 19, Adam Driver's energy basically screams Scorpio. InStyle sums up Scorpios as "secretive, magnetic, and intensely sexual." Fittingly, Vogue discussed the "Girls" alum's status as an unlikely "sex symbol," citing his "magnetic aura" as one of his main attractions. Meanwhile, the producer of "The Report," Steven Soderbergh, told The New Yorker that Driver "radiates obsession" — a good way to describe those born under the most intense and magnetic sign of the zodiac.

In addition to his seemingly very Scorpio-esque intensity, the memeable actor also has an on-brand Scorpio sense of humor: dry, sarcastic, and often dark. During an interview with Breitling Cinema, for example, Driver jokingly said, "Between takes I break all my chairs so people will think I'm like really intense and leave me alone" — but you get the feeling he's possibly also half-serious, as any Scorpio would be.

And who else but a Scorpio could so perfectly play a brooding and tortured "Star Wars" villain as well as he did? Driver once even joked about Kylo Ren also being a Scorpio.
