Who Is This Is Us Star Chris Sullivan's Wife?
On the small screen, "This Is Us" actor Chris Sullivan's character, Toby, had a long and complicated history with Chrissy Metz's character, Kate. But who is Sullivan married to in real life? Off camera, Sullivan is married to producer Rachel Sullivan. The couple welcomed their son, Bear Maxwell, into the world on July 28, 2020, according to People.
At the time, Chris told the outlet, "[Bear] and Rachel are both very healthy and recovering well and are resting." He continued, "As far as the name announcement goes, we designed a puzzle to send to our family members as a fun way to announce his name and to keep us all connected during quarantine — kind of a group activity to reach across the land. It's both information and something to do. And the reveal of our first son's name."
Chris and Rachel tied the knot back in 2010, and announced that they were pregnant in a January 2020 Instagram post. Rachel wrote, "You heard it from @sullivangrams we are having a BOY!! So excited!! Nursery is in the works, names are being workshopped, doulas are being interviewed, naps are my go-to self care bc I'm just so [ZZZ emoji], so much to do and yet so much not to do, just enjoying the moment...life is good!"

Chris Sullivan wrote a love letter to Rachel
In 2018, Chris Sullivan told People about marriage, sharing, "Romance means making yourself vulnerable. Ask your partner what they need to feel loved and when they tell you, say, 'I can do that!' Love is an action verb, and romance is the result of those actions." Sounds like Chris is dedicated and deliberate in his relationship.
In April 2021, Chris wrote a love letter to Rachel for the website Fatherly. He started the piece, "When I witnessed you, my wife, about to give birth, I was first hit on a spiritual level. There you were creating life. And then, when I saw it happening, it was earth-shattering. The paradigms shifted. Now, I view you differently in pretty much every way."
He continued by acknowledging that Rachel and he had been married for an entire decade before they had a child. Chris added that having a son had been a big shift that was a huge blessing for them. He wrote that despite the difficulties they had faced, there's a "joy that blankets everything." He concluded the piece, "With you, my time is never wasted."
