Vanessa Hudgens To Judge So You Think You Can Dance

Vanessa Hudgens is really having quite the year—and now she can add So You Think You Can Dance judge to her resume!

As Entertainment Tonight reported, the triple threat is set to join Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy on the judging panel during SYTYCD's 14th season. Fox made the official announcement late Tuesday night, May 30, 2017.

"I am so excited for Vanessa to join Mary and me on the judging panel for the 14th season of So You Think You Can Dance," Executive Producer Lythgoe expressed in a statement. "There was instant chemistry in the audition rounds, and I know the SYTYCD fans will love her as much as we do. Vanessa is an accomplished artist and brings her own brand of enthusiasm and energy to our panel."

The 28-year-old is fresh off her successful stint as Billboard Music Awards co-host with rapper Ludacris, as well as the recent release of "Reminding Me," a collaboration with Canadian singer-songwriter Shawn Hook.

And the multi-talented Hudgens is thrilled to take on this new gig. When the news broke, the former High School Musical star exclaimed that she was "So excited!!!" on Twitter

Although she is best-known for her work with Disney, Hudgens recently showed off her impressive dance skills during her Broadway debut, starring in the 2015 revival of Gigi (via Playbill). She also gave us her best Rizzo in 2016's Grease Live!—so this new direction in her career will also bring her back home to Fox.

Hudgens will make her SYTYCD debut during the show's season premiere on June 12, 2017, which will cover part one of the Los Angeles auditions. The show will air at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
