How Jerry Seinfeld's Daughter Feels About His Famous Show
Jerry Seinfeld's "Seinfeld" is often marketed as "a show about nothing," but to many people, it meant a whole lot. Fans and critics alike say that it changed the landscape of modern comedy, as it deviated from the multi-camera setup, featured "anti-heroes," aka characters you don't necessarily like all the time, and introduced an innovative way of storytelling. Shows at the time only centered on a single plot, but "Seinfeld" changed the face of the game and tackled multiple stories in a single episode, making the series far more colorful and exciting.
When asked if he would want to tweak some elements of the show if given the chance, Seinfeld himself said that he probably would, even if he doesn't believe in the idea of attempting to fix the past. "I think regret is a philosophical position that I disagree with," he said at a Netflix press event, via Deadline. "It kind of assumes you could have changed the past, so I wouldn't even think of that. But if you forced me or you gave me a time machine, yeah, there's a few — I would fix some things."
But even if Seinfeld doesn't think the show is perfect (likely due to jokes that have not aged well), it still continues to attract many fans — but he's not sure if the new wave of "Seinfeld" lovers includes his daughter, Sascha.

Celebrity parents have the tendency to ban their kids from watching their own work. For instance, actor Bob Odenkirk prevents his children from being exposed to "Breaking Bad." After all, it includes a lot of violence and illegal substances. "I had little kids, you can't have little kids come in during 'Breaking Bad' or the state will come after you," he said on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" (via Time).
While Jerry Seinfeld didn't necessarily prohibit "Seinfeld" from his household, he's aware that his kids have seen it, and they didn't exactly say whether or not they liked it. "My kids watch the show. I stopped and I asked them one time, I said, 'Why are you watching this?' Because it must be a weird experience for them to see dad," he shared on the "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" in 2013 (via E! News). "So I asked my daughter, 'Why are you watching this? Are you watching it, because it's so bizarre to see your dad on a TV show, or because you like the show?' She thought about it and she went, 'I don't know.'"
To this day, he's still not sure where his daughter Sascha stands. "[My daughter] used to watch — I haven't seen her watch lately," he told E! News. "I can't tell because she's under the covers with the phone. So I don't really know what they're watching."

Sascha Seinfeld may now be an adult, but that does not mean that she will stop being Jerry Seinfeld's baby. In fact, when he sent her off to college, he admitted that he was "a total puddle."
"I say it's kind of like if you found a little baby alligator and you put it in your tub, and you would think, 'Oh, look at his little bitey teeth, they're so cute,'" he shared with Amy Schumer on her podcast, via USA Today. "And then some time goes by, and you go, 'You know, I think we gotta get this thing the hell out of here.'"
Jerry trusts his daughter so much that he even makes an effort not to be one of those fathers who intimidate whoever their children are dating. "I really was determined not to be those dads. I hated those dads when I was a kid dating and you would go to a girl's house and the father would be so mean and I don't want to be that guy," he told People in 2019. "You feel those feelings. You feel possessive and protective but I refuse to be one of those disapproving dads."
