Cody Rigsby wasn't partnered with a same-sex DWTS instructor

The question of why Cody Rigsby wasn't partnered with a male on the current season of "Dancing With the Stars" has made headlines over the past few months, considering JoJo Siwa was partnered with Jenna Johnson, per Entertainment Weekly. Speaking to GLAAD's Anthony Ramos, Rigsby recently shared, "When the conversation opportunity came up for 'Dancing With The Stars,' I was just so excited to be on the show, I guess I didn't even think it was a possibility." Rigsby's time on the dance show hasn't come without its trials. According to The Washington Post, both Rigsby and his "DWTS" partner, Cheryl Burke, tested positive for COVID-19 and were forced to compete virtually and separately. The diagnosis marked Rigsby's second time testing positive for the coronavirus this year, despite the fact that both he and Burke are vaccinated. Fortunately, the athletes returned to the dance floor, ultimately coming in third place in the competition.

Whatever adventure Rigsby tackles next, we're sure his boyfriend will keep cheering him on along the way.
