Bill Cosby's TV Daughter Keshia Knight Pulliam Walks Him To Court
In case there was any confusion, actress Keshia Knight Pulliam is in full support of her former TV dad Bill Cosby.
Pulliam, who played Rudy Huxtable on The Cosby Show, walked arm-in-arm with Cosby on the morning of June 5, 2017, as the comedian headed to court for the opening of his sexual assault trial (via Entertainment Tonight). Cosby, 79, faces charges of three counts of aggravated indecent assault for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting former Temple University employee Andrea Constand back in January 2004. Cosby has denied these allegations.
Though Constand's accusations against Cosby are the first to go to court, several dozen women have claimed that the former TV star had drugged and raped them in the past.
Pulliam previously opened up to the Today show about the charges against Cosby, asserting that, while she may not know the details of the incidents in question, she supports in Cosby. "What I can say is this, I wasn't there," she told the morning show. "No one was there except for the two people to know exactly what happened. All I can speak to is the man that I know and I love."
"The fact that he's been such an example, you can't take away from the great that he has done," Pulliam, 38, stated, explaining, "You know, the amount ... the millions and millions of dollars that he has given back to colleges and education, and just what he did with The Cosby Show and how groundbreaking that was."
"You know, ultimately, they're just that, allegations," she continued. "And, you know, it's very much been played out in the court of public opinion. But we're still in America, where ultimately you're innocent until proven guilty. I wasn't there. That's just not the man I know. So I can't speak to it."
Pulliam, of course, isn't the only celebrity to stick by Cosby. Many members of his former TV family have come to his defense, including Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Phylicia Rashad, and Raven-Symoné.
