Why Chrissy Teigen And John Legend's Zodiac Signs Don't Match
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are a power couple within Hollywood, and they have the love story to prove it. However, the "Cravings" author pumped the brakes shortly thereafter. "I let [John] be himself for a while," she told Cosmopolitan in 2014. "The worst thing you can do is try to lock someone like that down early on, then have them think, 'There's so much more out there.'" Teigen's patience paid off when Legend proposed in 2011. By 2013, the two had tied the knot in a lavish Italian wedding, according to the publication.
Two children and nearly a decade of wedded bliss later, Teigen and Legend's marriage has not been without its challenges. After conceiving a third child in 2020, Teigen lost the baby, whom she and Legend had named Jack. Following the tragic pregnancy loss, Legend made his first public appearance at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards and dedicated his performance to Teigen. The "Ordinary People" singer also shared a video of the performance to Instagram and wrote, "This is for Chrissy. I love and cherish you and our family so much." But while it certainly seems like Teigen and Legend's marriage is rock solid, their zodiac signs suggest otherwise.
A Capricorn and Sagittarius pairing doesn't always make sense
As far as zodiac signs go, not every couple's relationship is written in the stars. Still, that hasn't stopped A-listers like Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, whose opposing fire and water signs typically don't mesh well, per Elite Daily. Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are another couple who (astrologically speaking) don't seem to be the most natural pairing. Teigen's November 30 birthday makes her a Sagittarius, while Legend, who was born on December 28, is a Capricorn. As Insider explains, the two signs don't usually align. "Capricorns crave stability and are slow to trust others, while Sagittarius is generally seen as a fickle and restless sign," per the outlet.
Furthermore, Teigen's zodiac sign might help provide insight into her outspoken nature. Known for her quick wit on Twitter, Teigen landed in hot water in early 2021 after it was revealed that she had bullied a number of celebrities on social media, including fashion designer Michael Costello. As astrologer Camille Michelle Gray writes on her website, Teigen's Sagittarius sun "can certainly get [her] in trouble." But, despite his more soft-spoken nature, Legend was quick to defend his wife amid the scandal. "Chrissy apologized for her public tweets, but after her apology, Mr. Costello fabricated a DM exchange between them," Legend tweeted in June. Adding that the exchange was "completely fake," the Grammy award-winner encouraged "everyone who breathlessly spread this lie to keep the same energy when they correct the record" (via Twitter).
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend do have some favorable astrological connections
While we know that fire (Sagittarius) and earth (Capricorn) signs can butt heads, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend do have some complementary astrological traits. For example, Showbiz CheatSheet tells us that their neighboring positions on the zodiac wheel give them a like-minded outlook on the world. According to the outlet, "Since Sagittarius and Capricorn are both toward the end of the zodiac, they are more mature signs. This means that Teigen and Legend are both old souls with a similar outlook on life." Not only that, but they may work well together when solving problems. Per CheatSheet, this is because of their signs' modalities. Sagittarius is mutable, making them more likely to compromise and negotiate, and by contrast, Capricorns are natural-born leaders. "The cardinal sign will likely take the lead and help make important decisions while the mutable sign provides support and understanding," via CheatSheet.
This certainly seems to ring true in Teigen and Legend's marriage. In 2019, Teigen opened up to Bustle about how she and her famous hubby work through some of their issues together. Explaining that she and Legend are "both apologizers," Teigen shared that she has "learned to listen to what the other person is upset about and try to make sure that I'm doing everything to not let that same, dumb fight happen again." Judging by Teigen's honest admission, there's much more to a lasting love connection than reading the stars.
