Danielle Staub made a very dramatic exit from "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" after two seasons in 2010. Danielle was on the receiving end of "RHONJ" star Teresa Giudice's infamous table flip and was the source of some iconic explosive blow-ups in the early days of the fan-favorite series.

In fact, Danielle stirred up even more drama behind the scenes that fans weren't privy to until recently. The former Housewife alleged in the new tell-all book "Not All Diamonds And Rosé" that her frenemy Teresa attacked her with an eating utensil during their famed argument at the Posche Fashion show. "Teresa took a fork to my back!" Danielle claimed, via Page Six. "I had a fork stabbed and dragged down my back!" She added, "I didn't know they'd start physically coming at me after that! I should be able to say what I want to say and not get physically accosted for it."

The controversial reality star was ultimately shut out from the "RHONJ" cast after starting off the series with a bang. What's the real reason Danielle got fired from the show?

Danielle Staub wanted her own reality show

Life & Style was the first to announce Danielle Staub was not asked back for "RHONJ" Season 3, according to HuffPost. An insider told the outlet in 2010 that the news of Danielle's firing "came as a complete shock, and she thought she was definitely going to return to the successful Bravo series." While fans assumed producers gave Danielle the boot for her role in several outrageous catfights, she soon offered her own explanation as to why she wouldn't be returning.

"I'm way too good for this," Danielle told Us Weekly at the time. "They have used me about as much as I can be used." The reality star added she wasn't interested in being "attacked" further on the show. As for her next move, Danielle claimed she wanted a solo spotlight, explaining, "a spin-off is absolutely, positively where I'm going." Danielle continued, "I want to be shown as a mother, an artist, a supporter of my charities and the foundations that I'm passionate about. I want to use my platform to speak about the things that I love in my life."

In a not-so-surprising turn of events, Danielle's spin-off series never came to fruition. She did, however, return to the Bravo spotlight that originally made her a star.

Danielle Staub was allegedly fired twice

Danielle Staub returned to the cast of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" on Season 8 as a "friend of" for three consecutive seasons. Though time had passed since she had been on the show as a recurring cast member, not much had changed about Danielle's cat-fighting ways. After making up with Teresa Giudice, Danielle feuded with castmate Margaret Josephs and their conflict came to a head in Season 10 when Danielle pulled Margaret's ponytail. In an exclusive interview, Margaret Josephs opened up to Nicki Swift about the explosive moment. "No one wants to work with someone who is so unstable," she noted. "I think Bravo doesn't tolerate. There's a zero-violence policy. That's just not the show it is. That was truly a violent moment. It crossed the line."

After the physical blow-up, Danielle announced on "Watch What Happens Live" she was officially leaving the show. "I am never returning as a Housewife again... With the Jersey girls," Danielle told host Andy Cohen. Fellow Jersey "friend of," Kim Granatell, called out Danielle's claim she was leaving the show on her own terms. "More lies," Kim G wrote in a since-deleted tweet, via The Sun. "So she won't be returning to the franchise, but let's be real, it's not by choice ...In contracts, we are not allowed to put hands on other cast [members]."
