Bachelor Star Chris Soules Heads To Court For Hearing About Fatal Car Accident
Chris Soules returned to court on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017.
Us Weekly reports that the former Bachelor star headed to a courthouse in Iowa for a hearing regarding his involvement in a fatal car crash back in April. According to the magazine, the 35-year-old "appeared emotionless and did not speak" during the short five-minute hearing.
During the hearing, Soules' attorneys reportedly "reached an agreement with the prosecution to withdraw a bill of particulars" as well as to change the wording of trial information. However, the class D felony that Soules, 35, faces still stands.
Soules' legal team reportedly asked the judge to dismiss the charge that he'd left the scene of a fatal accident (via Page Six). His lawyers said they would further fight the charges during an Oct. 10 court hearing.
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Soules was arrested after he allegedly rear-ended a tractor trailer, sending both his car and the other vehicle into a ditch. The other driver was taken to the hospital but, unfortunately, later died. Though he called 911 after the crash, Soules reportedly got a ride from a friend and returned to his home.
After being charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident, he was released on $10,000 bail. He was also required to wear an ankle monitor and stay in the country (via Us Weekly).
Soules later pleaded not guilty.
