Women Ben Affleck Betrayed
Ben Affleck is a two-time Oscar winner, the loving father of three children, and the guy tapped to take on the coveted role of Batman in a slew of films, including Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. Sure, Affleck's saving lives on the big screen, but in real life, there's a select group of women who probably don't consider him to be much of a superhero at all. If the tabloids are to be believed, his relationships with women have been plagued by shady dealings and alleged betrayals.
Keep in mind, the following analysis is rife with gossip, so perhaps Affleck has been a dashing prince charming over the years. Maybe his bad reputation in the tabloids is undeserved. (If that's the case, he may want to hire a new public relations team.) Because from Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow to Emmy-winning producer Lindsay Shookus, and from the mother of his children to the nanny of his children, these are the women Ben Affleck has allegedly betrayed.
Gwyneth Paltrow
It was the late 1990s and Gwyneth Paltrow and Ben Affleck were a smoking hot couple. They dated from 1997 until 2000, right around the time Affleck was the talk of the town for his Academy Award-winning film Good Will Hunting. Everyone wanted a piece of him, and apparently his newfound mega-stardom is what led to the couple's demise.
More than a decade after the pair split, Paltrow went on Howard Stern's SiriusXM radio show and admitted the real reason behind their break up. "He was not in a good place in his life to have a girlfriend," she said (via Us Weekly). In fact, she told Good Morning America that his perfect woman would be "any sort of stripper at Scores. Anyone that serves cold beer in a bikini." Yikes.
Jennifer Lopez
Affleck was one half of the iconic "Bennifer" with Jennifer Lopez when he and another Jenn — Jennifer Garner — filmed Daredevil. Affleck may have been engaged to Jenny from the Block, but it seems he couldn't get the other Jen off his mind.
It's unclear when Affleck and Garner actually started their romantic relationship, but he confessed to Playboy in 2014 that they certainly had a powerful connection as co-stars. "We met on Pearl Harbor, which people hate, but we fell in love on Daredevil," he said.
As if that's not icky enough, Affleck may have betrayed J.Lo in more ways than one. According to the National Enquirer (via the Daily Mail), he reportedly got quite cozy with some exotic dancers while partying at a strip club in August 2003, just weeks before he was supposed to walk down the aisle with Lopez. Affleck and a stripper at the club denied the rumors, while another dancer told Radar Online the dirt was legit. Whatever the truth may be, this real-life narrative is even worse than Gigli.
Jennifer Garner
If you think the demise of Bennifer was rough, brace yourselves. Shortly after Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck announced their separation in 2015, it was rumored that he'd been hooking up with their children's nanny, Christine Ouzounian.
Garner told Vanity Fair they had "been separated for months" before she "heard about the nanny," insisting that the woman who took care of their children "was not a part of the equation." The whole mess boils down to a lot of he-said, she-said, but regardless, the gossip got worse.
Us Weekly reported that Affleck and Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus began a "full-blown affair" as early as 2014. Forget the nanny — a source claimed Affleck and Shookus "were sleeping together, sending each other cute texts and meeting up whenever they could." An insider told Radar Online, "They had secret meetings at hotels in New York and Canada, but never went out for fear of being photographed together." The site also claimed Affleck and Shookus used a secret email account. A source said Shookus "was the woman who ultimately ended any hope of reconciliation between Ben and Jen."
To date, Garner and Affleck have yet to officially divorce, though as of August 2018, a settlement is reportedly on the horizon.
Nanny Christine Ouzounian
Christine Ouzounian was the woman thrust into the spotlight when news broke about Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's split. The family's nanny was promptly relieved of her duties as reports about an alleged affair made headlines. While we're not saying that there was or was not a romance between these two, sources who claimed to be close to Ouzounian told People that she admitted to having an affair with the star. "Christine is in love with him," one insider said.
Affleck's rep called the cheating stories "complete garbage," but the validity of the rumors arguably doesn't really doesn't matter at this point. The thing to consider here is that Affleck either didn't stand by his flame or he wasn't there to publicly defend his employee when things got tough.
Lindsay Shookus
Depending on the day and the gossip site, Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus either enabled or tried to curtail Ben Affleck's well-documented battle with alcohol addiction. Sources say his alcohol problem played a role in their 2018 split, but there's one turn of events she probably didn't see coming regarding her controversial relationship with Affleck: Just one week after Shookus was photographed hugging Affleck's sobriety coach outside the actor's home on Aug. 9, 2018, Affleck was spotted dining out with Playboy model and self-described whiskey aficionado Shauna Sexton — who seemed to really love the newfound notoriety as his latest rebound chick.
According to People, Affleck entered rehab on Aug. 22, 2018. His ex, Jennifer Garner, reportedly drove him there. "Is she happy about him hanging out with a very young Playboy model? Certainly not," an insider said. "But her concern right now is not who he is dating. What she ultimately cares about is his sobriety and whether she can rely on him to co-parent."
