Imagine growing up in the spotlight for these kids, who have adapted to life in the limelight while trying to enjoy their pre-teen and teenage years. Sometimes, it's hard to believe that the stars we watch — on the small and big screens — have children who are all grown up, especially since some of them have offspring who are now even taller than their famous parents.
Whether it's Jennifer Garner and her look-alike daughter or David Beckham's own son surpassing him in height, these children are giving their celebrity parents a run for their money, as they have quite literally reached new heights, leaving us to wonder where the time went. The newest Trump Tower
Whether you love or hate Donald Trump, one thing is for sure — his youngest son quite literally towers over the former president. He is the only child of Donald and Melania Trump. At 16 years old (as of 2022), Barron Trump stands taller than both parents, at 6 feet 7 inches, per Snopes. Former President Trump marveled about how his youngest son is also the tallest at a GOP event in North Carolina in 2021. "Barron is 6-foot-7, can you believe it? And he's 15," Donald said. "Eric is short — he's only 6-foot-6," he joked of his 37-year-old son.
Barron has hit a growth spurt since the public was first introduced to him at his father's presidential inauguration, where he appeared to look less than thrilled. It seems height runs in his blood, with his dad standing at 6 feet 3 inches, according to the White House physician's report done in 2019. Mom Melania is also on the taller side, at 5 feet 11 inches. Barron was the first boy in nearly 60 years to live in the White House, the last being John F. Kennedy Jr., according to CNN.
Romeo Beckham has his father on his tiptoes
We've all heard of "Bend It Like Beckham," but what about ... "Tiptoe like Beckham?" That's the question that comes to mind when taking a look at the Beckham family Christmas photo from 2021. Fans got a glimpse of David Beckham standing on his tiptoes next to his son Romeo. Romeo has definitely taken notice of his own growth spurt, even ribbing his old man for his height in the past.
In this 2020 Instagram snap, Romeo pokes a little fun at his father, captioning the post, "Happy Birthday dad ... sorry for being officially taller than you now." The gentle teasing seems to be well-received by David, who jokingly accepted defeat in a 2020 Instagram post celebrating his son's 18th birthday. Romeo and his father have more in common than just looks, though. Dad and son share a love of soccer, with Romeo signed to play with Fort Lauderdale FC, owned by Beckham's club Inter Miami FC.
Keeping up with Kourtney's son
Fans probably remember young Mason Disick from his early years on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," so it's hard to believe how fast the almost-teenager is growing up. The young star was seen out in Calabasas in summer 2022, and the 12-year-old is already taller than his mother. Mason is Kourtney Kardashian's first child with ex-boyfriend Scott Disick. The two also share Penelope and Reign.
Mason is a part of an even larger blended family, as Kourtney wed drummer Travis Barker in 2022. The rocker has son Landon and daughter Alabama. Kim Kardashian shared on a 2022 episode of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" that Mason told her daughter, North, "'You know, getting a stepdad isn't so bad.' And [he] was like, 'They're not these evil people you see in the movies. It's just not like that.'" Mason is celebrating new milestones on and off-screen, as he graduated from middle school and came home to a balloon-filled setup from his father, per Page Six.
Reese Witherspoon's older children
The "Sweet Home Alabama" star you know and love has a teenage boy, and he's way taller than his famous mom. Reese Witherspoon's eldest son, Deacon Reese Phillippe, is 18 years old and a high school graduate! Reese recently reunited with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe to celebrate their son's milestone with a backyard celebration. Deacon also headed off to prom, sharing a collection of photographs on Instagram captioned "Prom anyone??" In addition, father and son were out and about in Los Angeles, spending some one-on-one time together, looking similar in low-key outfits.
Deacon isn't the only child Reese and Ryan have together, as the two also share 22-year-old Ava Phillippe, who also is taller than her mother. The two look more like sisters than mother and daughter. Reese has a 9-year-old son named Tennessee with husband John Toth, while Ryan Phillippe has another child with ex-girlfriend Alexis Knapp, a 10-year-old daughter named Kai Knapp.
Lala Anthony and son Kiyan
Being the son of an NBA star means having big shoes to fill, and Kiyan Anthony seems to be doing just that — literally. The son of Carmelo Anthony and American TV personality Lala Anthony, Kiyan is an aspiring basketball star who stands around 6 foot 2, a full head taller than his mother, as seen in this Instagram snap in 2022. In another Instagram post from November 2021, the proud mom wrote, "My baby @kiyananthony is growing up soooo fast ... he's taller than me ... faster than me." He is already following in his father's footsteps, and his dad was happy to announce the news of him playing basketball at Christ the King High School in Queens, New York, via Twitter.
Lala and Carmelo had their fair share of makeups and breakups through the years, but Lala filed for divorce in June of 2021 after 11 years of marriage, per TMZ. The two are committed to co-parenting their son, as sources told TMZ in 2021 that they remain friends and want a smooth transition for Kiyan.
Jennifer Garner and her mini-me
It's no secret that "13 Going on 30" star Jennifer Garner shares a striking resemblance with her daughter Violet, who at 16 (as of 2022) is already taller than her mother. Garner shares three children with ex-husband Ben Affleck — Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. A source previously told InTouch that "Not only does she look identical to Jen, [but] they share similar personality traits, too, like their passion for cooking."
Garner explained her parenting philosophy to romper: "I have a lot of friends. I don't need my kids to try to be my friends. They need to focus on themselves. I just enjoy them so, so much, but I don't want them to have the burden of having to be my best friend." The actor also works to keep her children as grounded as possible, despite their family being in the spotlight. "It's really important for my kids to see that everyone doesn't have the lives they see in Los Angeles. That doesn't reflect the rest of the world," Garner said in an interview with Southern Living.
