Selena Gomez Explains How She Became BFFs With Taylor Swift

It's difficult to imagine, but there was actually a time when Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift weren't close friends.

On Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, Gomez visited British radio station KISS FM and revealed just how she and the "Call It What You Want" singer became pals—and it had everything to do with their past relationships.

"We actually dated the Jonas Brothers together!" Gomez told listeners. "It was hysterical."

The 25-year-old continued, "It was amazing, because [Swift] was the girl with the big curly hair and all the bracelets and the cowboy boots. And I was definitely up-and-coming, and we just clicked."

Gomez quipped, "It was the best thing we got out of those relationships."

As fans may remember, Gomez, prior to her romance with Justin Bieber, dated Nick Jonas in 2008. That same year, Swift coupled up with Nick's older brother, Joe. The relationships, however, would be short lived. Swift later penned the song "Forever and Always" about her quick relationship with Joe, who had reportedly broken up with her over the phone in a conversation that lasted under a minute (via Us Weekly).

But don't worry. There's no bad blood amongst the pop stars these days. Gomez noted, "They're lovely, by the way. We're all friends now. We were young, you know, it's a different time."

While we wait for the Jonas Brothers to react to Gomez's admission, read up on why Joe, Nick, and older brother Kevin don't get along anymore.
