Actor Tom Hiddleston and his fiance Zawe Ashton kept the news of their baby top secret, with Us Weekly breaking the story that they had welcomed their first child in October 2022. Meanwhile, comedian Nick Cannon welcomed four children in 2022 with four different mothers. Cannon is the father of 11 children with six other women. A 12th child is on the way

So many lovely babies made their debuts in 2022, with fans getting to see their favorite celebs become first-time parents while other star couples were overjoyed to give their children more siblings. A few celebrities even surprised fans with unexpected baby news! Check out which Hollywood stars welcomed children into the mix during 2022.

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott

Kylie Jenner became a mother of two at 25 when she and rapper Travis Scott welcomed a son on February 2, 2022. The Kylie Cosmetics owner announced the birth of her son on Instagram, posting a black and white photo of the infant's hand. She captioned it with a blue heart emoji and the day he was born "2/2/22."

Jenner initially revealed that she had named her newborn son Wolf on her Instagram Story. However, one month later, she posted the news that she and Scott had decided to change their son's name, which has still yet to be announced. In September 2022, while appearing on "The Late Late Show with James Corden," Jenner shared that the couple has also not yet legally changed his name, sharing, "His passport's Wolf, but that isn't gonna be his name. We're just waiting."

Jenner and Scott are also parents to a daughter named Stormi, born on February 1, 2018. The reality star decided to keep her first pregnancy a secret, having shared on Instagram after Stormi's birth, "My pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world. I knew for myself I needed to prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress-free, and healthy way I knew how." There are more kids in Jenner's future, too. She admitted in an Instagram Live that she'd like to have "seven kids down the line, but not right now."

Michelle Branch and Patrick Carney

Singer Michelle Branch and her husband — Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney — welcomed a daughter named Willie Jacquet on February 2, 2022. The "All You Wanted" singer announced the news on her Instagram, sharing a photo of their newborn and revealing the inspiration behind her baby's moniker. "Welcome to the world, sweet Willie girl. Willie Jacquet was born on 2/2/22. She's named after Patrick's grandmother Willie Madge and has my mother's maiden name/my middle name. We're so in love," Branch revealed.

Branch announced that she was expecting in August 2022. This came after she admitted in December 2020 that she had suffered a miscarriage. The birth of their daughter makes the songstress a mother of three. The couple welcomed a son named Rhys James in August 2018, while Branch shares a daughter named Owen with her ex-husband, Teddy Landau, per People

Despite the happy news, the couple found themselves in the tabloids after Branch filed for divorce from Carney in August 2022 amid cheating allegations. Branch was later arrested for domestic assault, but the charges were dismissed. The couple reconciled, with Page Six reporting that they called off their divorce and are working on their marriage.

Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney

Jennifer Lawrence and her husband — art dealer Cooke Maroney — have kept much of the birth of their first child under wraps. According to TMZ, the couple welcomed their baby in early 2022; however, at the time, the name, gender, and birthdate were not available.

Before she welcomed her firstborn, she told Vanity Fair that she wanted to keep her child's life away from the public eye as much as possible. "Every instinct in my body wants to protect their privacy for the rest of their lives, as much as I can. I don't want anyone to feel welcome into their existence. And I feel like that just starts with not including them in this part of my work."

"The Hunger Games" star has since opened up about motherhood, including announcing the baby's name but has still chosen to keep much of her pregnancy journey private. In an interview with Vogue for their October 2022 issue, Lawrence revealed that she and her husband — they married in 2019 — welcomed a son they named Cy. The actor admitted that she instantly fell in love with her son after being warned by friends that it might take some time to develop that special bond. "The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over. Like, 'Now is day one of my life.' I just started. I was just so in love,'" she gushed.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky proudly announced they were expecting when the couple was spotted taking photos on the streets of New York City, with RiRi debuting a baby bump in January 2022. Once the news got out, the Fenty Beauty founder didn't let her pregnancy stop her from wearing anything she wanted, including looks that showcased her growing baby bump. "When I found out I was pregnant, I thought to myself, there's no way I'm going to go shopping in no maternity aisle," she expressed to Vogue in their May 2022 issue.

According to TMZ, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky welcomed their baby boy into the world on May 13, 2022. As of this writing, it is still unknown what they named their son. The "Lift Me Up" singer and her rapper boyfriend have also yet to share photos of him. When talking about why they chose not to reveal their son's name or photos of him to the public, Rihanna told The Washington Post (via Page Six), "We just didn't get around to it yet really. We've just been living. But I guess there's a certain freedom that comes with kind of just, like, getting it out there."

Fans believe the couple's baby's name starts with the letter "D" after Rihanna was spotted wearing a long chain necklace with the letter. Guess Rihanna's Navy will have to be patient for now.

Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn

Ed Sheeran kept a huge secret from his fans when he announced on Instagram on May 19, 2022, that he and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, welcomed their second child into the world. According to Us Weekly, the singer shared a since-deleted photo of a blanket and baby socks with the caption, "Want to let you all know we've had another beautiful baby girl. We are both so in love with her, and over the moon to be a family of 4." The couple named their daughter Jupiter.

The "Perfect" singer shared a similar photo when he told his fans on social media that he and Seaborn welcomed their first child — a girl named Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran — in August 2020. Although the couple prefers to keep their personal life away from the public, Sheeran has opened up about how becoming a father has changed his life. "I just found that I really didn't have any purpose outside of [music] because when I was giving myself fixed time off of no work, I wasn't doing anything I enjoyed because I love doing music," Sheeran told Ellen DeGeneres in 2021. "[Being a dad] has actually given me purpose and something in life that's actually more important than my job."

Sam Hunt and Hannah Lee Fowler

Country singer Sam Hunt became a first-time dad when he and his wife, Hannah Lee Fowler, welcomed a daughter in May 2022. He announced the joyous news while performing at the Stars for Second Harvest charity concert in Nashville, Tennesse. "I recently had a baby girl named Lucy Lu," he told the crowd while also gushing about fatherhood.

The couple hit a rough patch in February when Fowler filed for divorce from the "Body Like a Back Road" singer. According to TMZ, Fowler withdrew the initial filing but re-filed again in a different county. In the divorce documents, Fowler accused Hunt of infidelity and revealed that she was pregnant with his child. The couple had not yet announced that they were expecting. In April, Fowler seemed to have a change of heart when she decided to call off the divorce

On the Fourth of July, Hunt shared a video on Instagram of his family enjoying a fishing trip. In the post, fans can catch a glimpse of his daughter, who is being held by other children.

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas became a family of four when they welcomed a daughter in July 2022. Jonas became an official girl dad after the couple welcomed their first daughter, Willa, in July 2020. The couple has not revealed their second child's name as of this writing.

The "Game of Thrones" star confirmed that she was pregnant with their second baby in an issue of Elle UK in May 2022. She shared, "It's what life is about for me – raising the next generation. The greatest thing in life is seeing my daughter go from strength to strength. We're so excited to be expanding the family. It's the best blessing ever."

Being a parent has even helped Turner become better at her craft. She shared on the "UnWrapped" podcast, "It's made me a better actor for becoming, you know, becoming a mother. Because as an actor, you know, the only way to become a really brilliant actor," she continued, "is to experience as much life as possible and to bring those experiences in, and so this is just another little part of life that I'm experiencing that I get to bring in and hopefully it helps my performance one way or another."

Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson

The birth of Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson's second child — a son born via surrogate in August 2022 — didn't come without drama. The former couple has a history of breaking up and getting back together after their first child, a daughter named True, was born in April 2018

Kardashian and Thompson were expecting their second child, conceived in November 2021, via surrogate. At the time, Kardashian and Thompson were together, but in December, a woman named Maralee Nichols filed a paternity suit against him, claiming he was the father of her son Theo, who was born that month. In January 2022, Thompson confirmed that he was the father after taking a paternity test. He also publicly apologized to Kardashian. "Khloe, you don't deserve this. You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you," he shared on his Instagram Story.

Kardashian was unaware that Thompson would be a father to another woman's baby when they decided to give True a sibling. However, despite all the drama, Kardashian shared with Elle that she was in a good place. "I know it's cliche, but I love everything, even the hard parts."

Adrienne Bailon and Israel Houghton

Adrienne Bailon and her husband, Israel Houghton, welcomed a baby boy via surrogate in August 2022. Bailon shared the news on Instagram with a black and white photo of the two with their son, who they named Ever. She wrote, "Our baby boy is here & we are so in love! If you have followed our love story ... you know that our journey to baby has been very challenging – But God is true to His word and His promises." The "Cheetah Girls" star also thanked her surrogate, friends, and family who have been with Bailon on the emotional journey to become a mother.

Bailon and Houghton tied the knot in November 2016, with the actor being open about her fertility struggles. On a 2020 episode of "The Real," she shared with the audience, "It can be really discouraging, and it can be really frustrating. I think I looked at myself, and in my mind, I was like, 'I'm a Cheetah Girl; I'm 19 years old,' and then I woke up, and I was like, actually, I'm going to be 35 in a few weeks," she continued, "and that makes a big difference. I can feel as youthful as I want on the inside and in my heart, but my ovaries are what they are.'"

According to People, Bailon celebrated the birth of her son with a tattoo of his name on her hand. She debuted her new ink on her Instagram Story.

Adriana Lima and Andre Lemmers

Supermodel Adriana Lima announced that she was expecting her first child with boyfriend Andre Lemmers on TikTok in February 2022. She shared clips of Lemmers scaring her and got back at him by revealing a positive pregnancy test. The pair had a gender reveal seen in another TikTok clip and learned they were having a boy. Lima was surrounded by her two daughters, Valentina and Sienna, who she shares with ex-husband Marko Jarić.

Like Rihanna, the model showed off her growing belly during red-carpet events. For the "Top Gun" movie premiere in May, Lima wore a black Balmain dress that had a cut out on the stomach. She shared a photo of her look on Instagram and even thanked RiRi for "opening the door" for expecting mothers to wear whatever they please. That same month, she was featured on the cover of Elle magazine wearing nothing but a chain around her belly.

Lima shared that she had given birth to her son on August 28, 2022. She posted a photo of her newborn's eye on Instagram and revealed that the couple had named him Cyan. She explained their name choice, "Cyan is the color between green and blue on the visible spectrum of light. Cyan is the color of the waters of Bora Bora and Maldives, places in our family's bucket list. Cyan is now our favorite color ... the color of our baby boy's eyes."

Sean 'Diddy' Combs

Sean "Diddy" Combs became a father again when he announced on Twitter in December 2022 that he had welcomed a daughter named after himself. He shared, "I'm so blessed to welcome my baby girl Love Sean Combs to the world. Mama Combs, Quincy, Justin, Christian, Chance, D'Lila, Jessie and myself all love you so much! God is the Greatest!" In 2021, Combs legally changed his name to Sean Love Combs, although he continues to go by "Diddy."

When the music mogul announced the surprising news, there was no word on who the mother was. However, after some digging, it was revealed that the mother was a woman named Dana Tran and that the child was born on October 15, 2022, per TMZ. Meanwhile, Combs is in a relationship with rapper Yung Mami as of this writing, although she clarified in an interview with XXL in September that they were in a polyamorous relationship.

Diddy is also the father to six other children. According to People, the rapper adopted the late model Kim Porter's son, Quincy, and the former couple had three more children together — a son named Christian and twins named D'Lila and Jessie. Combs is also the father to a son named Justin — who he shares with stylist Misa Hylton — and a daughter named Chance he had with businesswoman Sarah Chapman.

Rebel Wilson

Rebel Wilson surprised the world when she announced on her Instagram on November 7, 2022, that she had welcomed a daughter named Royce Lillian via surrogate. The "Pitch Perfect" actor posted a sweet photo of her newborn daughter and thanked those on her journey to becoming a mom. "I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved (you know who you are), this has been years in the making ... but particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care."

According to People, Wilson shared that she initially began her weight loss in 2020, and what she declared her "year of health" to have a better chance at having a child. After a doctor recommended she lose weight for the sake of having a healthy fertility journey, she shared, "I was taken aback. I thought, 'Oh, God, this guy's so rude.' He was right. I was carrying around a lot of excess weight. It's almost like I didn't think of my own needs. I thought of a future child's needs that really inspired me to get healthier.'"

In June, Wilson came out as gay, sharing a photo of herself with her partner Ramona Agruma on Instagram. She captioned the picture, "I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince ... but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess."

Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita

"Modern Family" star Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband Justin Mikita became parents of two when they welcomed a baby boy named Sullivan on November 15, 2022, via surrogate. Ferguson shared the news on his Instagram with photos of the couple's newborn son and told his fans that he had to get away from his duties on the Broadway hit "Take Me Out" to meet the family's newest member.

Sullivan will join his big brother Beckett, who the couple also welcomed by way of a surrogate in July 2020. While joining Ellen DeGeneres in a video interview in March 2021, Ferguson joked about how he and Mikita were to raise their son. "It's a lot of show tunes because that's what I like. We're raising him gay until he decides he's straight. On the way back from the hospital," he continued, "we played Britney Spears because that is what Justin demanded he listens to. That was his first exposure to music. It's a lot of singing. I'm writing lots of songs for him. Everything has a song."

Ferguson and Mikita were first engaged in 2012 in 2012, with the actor popping the question. They wed a year later, in July 2013, with screenwriter Tony Kushner officiating their nuptials.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt

MTV's "The Hills" stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt became a family of four when they welcomed a son named Ryker on November 17, 2022. The reality stars were already parents to a son named Gunnar – born in October 2017 in October 2017 and now officially a big brother.

Pratt documented their trip to the hospital on his TikTok. In the video, Pratt can be seen driving while Montag is in the passenger seat in labor. Pratt shared with ET that he was ready to help deliver the baby in case he arrived before the couple reached the hospital. "I had gloves in the car, and I learned never cut the umbilical cord with a pocket knife," he shared. Thankfully, Montag made it to the hospital, stating that "from beginning to finish it was only like an hour and 15 minutes. It was very fast."

Montag shared with People that she was overjoyed about giving Gunnar a sibling when she announced her pregnancy in June. "He loves babies, he's been asking me for a sibling for so long. So to have this new love and this new relationship that he gets to have and that we all get to have is amazing," she said.
