What We Know About Lisa Marie Presley's Half-Brother Navarone Garibaldi

Lisa Marie Presley's half-brother, Navarone Garibaldi, has paid tribute to the late singer following Presley's tragic death on January 12. "Big sister... I hope you are now at peace and happy with your Dad and your son by your side," Garibaldi wrote on Instagram alongside a throwback picture of himself as a toddler with Presley. "I know the past couple years weren't easy for you, and I wish things had been different between us. Regardless, you are my sister and I'm sending love and prayers for your journey home. I still can't believe this, I'm lost for words. Love you sis. Beijos."

The late singer-songwriter became a big sister in 1987 when her mother Priscilla Presley and Marco Garibaldi, her partner at the time, welcomed Navarone, their only child together. And even though it is unclear how close Navarone and his half-sister were, the 35-year-old apparently had a hard time dealing with the death of his nephew, Lisa Marie's son, Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in 2020. In a Facebook statement released following Keough's death, Priscilla described the loss as devasting for her as well as other members of her family — including Navarone. "I think of my daughter and the pain she is going through as she was a doting mother [...] Riley [Keough], so loving and so close to him; Harper and Finley [Lockwood], who absolutely adored Ben. Navarone, who struggles deeply with loss and death," she wrote, per People.

Outside his apparent struggle with the death of his half-sister and nephew, who really is Navarone Garibaldi?

Like his sister, Navarone Garibaldi is a musician

Navarone Garibaldi might not be a Presley by blood but he apparently has the music genes running in him. In 2013, Garibaldi formed Them Guns, a synth-rock band, where he serves as the lead vocalist and guitarist. According to the band's website, Garibaldi and Kyle Hamood, the group's keyboardist and drummer, met as kids in Hawaii back in the '80s. After a lifelong friendship, the pair teamed up with Chuck Holiday who serves as the band's bass player.

Successful in their own right, Them Guns have performed at some major concert venues including California's The Viper Room and Troubadour. And if you were wondering if Elvis Presley is one of their major musical influences, the answer is no. When asked who his musical influences were, Garibaldi revealed in an interview with Music News, "Oh man all sorts. Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Kings of Leon to the likes of the Chemical Brothers."

And even though he is no Elvis, Priscilla Presley is still just as proud of her son's decision to make music. "My son Navarone is his own person. He wants to do his own thing and I'm really proud of him," she said in a 2012 interview with The Guardian. Most importantly though, Priscilla is proud of how much Garibaldi seeks to make a name for himself — without the Presley name. "He's not riding on Elvis and he's not riding on Lisa. We have never been, 'Elvis this, Elvis that,' to our children because otherwise, you're building up something that is almost unreachable for them."

Navarone Garibaldi is happily married

In December 2020, Navarone Garibaldi took to Instagram, announcing his engagement to his longtime girlfriend, Elisa Achilli. "SHE SAID YESSSS!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!," he captioned a picture of Achilli wearing a ring. A little over a year after the proposal, Garibaldi and Achilli got married in an intimate ceremony at Schloss Hünigen Hotel in Switzerland. "I never thought I would find a counterpart that is so understanding and supportive," Garibaldi gushed to People about his beautiful bride. "She makes everything we do effortless, and I can't imagine life without her." Taking to Instagram, the then-34-year-old shared a slew of wedding photos with his wife, captioning it: "Most amazing wedding. [T]hank you for everything baby I love you.. and thank you to all bridesmaids for doing sooo much to help! And everyone for coming." Achilli in turn also had nothing but sweet things to say about her husband. "Navarone is truly the most genuine, sweet, and sensitive man I have ever known and I'm so lucky that after four years of long-distance, we can start our life together as husband and wife," she told the outlet.

The event, which was an outdoor affair, was well-attended by family and friends including the groom's mother Priscilla Presley, and Elvis Presley's longtime friend Jerry Schilling who joined virtually. Speaking to People, Priscilla shared her excitement for the newlyweds, revealing that she had long anticipated the pair's big day. "Navarone and Elisa are MARRIED!!!" she announced on Instagram. "I couldn't be happier!"
