Kelli Giddish's Son Once Made An Appearance On Law & Order: SVU

"Law & Order: SVU" star Kelli Giddish began starring as Amanda Rollins on the hit show back in 2011. Prior to this, Giddish had been appearing on "All My Children" as Di Henry since 2005. As she looked back on acting in "Law & Order: SVU" for a decade, Giddish discussed her gratitude for the longtime job of portraying Rollins. "It's absolutely nuts to know that I've been on here for 10 years," Giddish said, Stage Right Secrets shared on YouTube.

She added, "It feels great. It's such an honor, and to be playing the same character and to get to play Amanda Rollins for this many years has been ... a blessing I did not know that was going to be bestowed upon me." In October 2015, Giddish gave birth to her first child, a son named Ludo, which was celebrated by her "Law & Order: SVU" costar Ice-T via Twitter. "At the hospital with the newest SVU member 'Ludo' Congrats @TheKelliGiddish and Larry [Faulborn, Giddish's ex-husband], " Ice-T wrote with a photo of Ludo, Giddish, and Ice-T's wife, model and TV personality Coco Austin. Ludo has since had the chance to be a participant in his mom's work.

Kelli Giddish's son played her character's daughter in Law & Order: SVU

Kelli Giddish's infant son played the part of her onscreen child in "Law & Order: SUV." While chatting with E! News in 2016, Giddish revealed that her first-born son, Ludo, was going to be portraying her daughter in the fan-favorite series. This came after Giddish's real-life pregnancy was incorporated into her character's storyline as the first-ever pregnancy depicted on "Law & Order: SUV." Giddish said that having her son with her on set was a "pure joy" and "really comforting" for her, though she was initially hesitant to allow him to take on the role.

"I was like, 'Am I pimping my child out?' And they were like, 'No! That will be such a cool thing when he gets older, he'll have been on 'Law & Order.' I was like, 'Yeah as a girl,'" Giddish said. "I'm sure he's going to love that when he gets old enough to realize. He's going to be like, 'Oh, thanks for the pink bow on national television, Mom.'" In December 2022, Giddish talked to People about her departure from "Law & Order: SUV," which came after 12 seasons on the show. Giddish stated that her life has been "busier now than when I was shooting." In recent years, Giddish has expanded her family unit.

Kelli Giddish is now a mother of two

Following her son Ludo's "Law & Order: SVU" appearance, Kelli Giddish again gave birth. In November 2018, Giddish's then-husband, Lawrence Faulborn, announced via Instagram that the couple had welcomed their second child named Charlie, People reported. Giddish later opened up about the close bond she, her parents, and her two kids share. "I really love spending time with them and my boys," Giddish said to Smashing Interviews Magazine in 2021. "Whenever we can all get some time off, we'll spend a month together in the summer at the beach house."

In the same interview, Giddish stated that she and Faulborn had divorced, and she was engaged to someone new. Giddish later revealed that she'd tied the knot with Beau Richards in a 2021 Instagram post. "Happy beyond words to have met and married my love, my man, my sweet beau 11/7/21," she wrote before adding, "@botorious you are my light, and the most supreme step-father Ludo and Charlie could ask for." During a 2022 chat with IndieWire, Giddish reflected on her "Law & Order: SVU" exit and mentioned her pregnancy being written into the series, which led to Ludo's acting debut. "What other show can a woman go and be totally bloated and pregnant as a cop and the showrunners say, 'We'll work with it,' you know? That was awesome," Giddish said.
