Savannah Chrisley Dispels Julie's Rumored Prison Friendship With Cheer Star Jerry Harris
From reality stars to prisoners ... the Chrisley family has been through it all. As most of us know, a jury convicted Todd and Julie Chrisley of several charges in June, including bank fraud and tax evasion. Then, in November, a judge in the case sentenced both Todd and Julie to time in prison. According to WSB-TV, a judge ultimately gave Todd 12 years behind bars plus three years of probation, while sentencing Julie to seven years in prison with three years of probation.
Since the public and the Chrisley family learned the fate of Todd and Julie, several family members have spoken out about the sentence and how it affects their day-to-day lives, including Savannah Chrisley. In late December, Savannah spoke with Chase Chrisley's fiance, Emmy Medders, on her "Unlocked" podcast, where she shared how she felt before her parents headed to prison. "With both mom and dad, I've said it's like grieving the loss of parents that are still alive, which is the hardest thing in the world," she confessed to Medders and listeners. "I feel like I've distanced myself to prepare for what's coming." Savannah also revealed that she doesn't feel like she can "move on" in her life and have big milestones like a wedding until her parents get out of jail, stating that she feels like her life needs to be on hold.
Now, the reality star is dispelling a rumor about her mom's stay in prison.
Savannah Chrisley slams rumors
Savannah Chrisley is setting the record straight about her mother's friendships in prison, including a particularly bizarre rumor that she and "Cheer" star Jerry Harris are pals in prison, which TMZ first reported. "First off, when it comes to my mother being in a medical facility, she's not in the medical facility... she's in a camp," Savannah shared on her "Unlocked" podcast. "Went it comes to where she's at and her hanging out with this Cheer star ... completely inaccurate and false. If you know anything about our system, you know there is no mingling. She has not spoken to him ... seen him."
Savannah shared a few more details about Julie's stint in prison, even admitting that "she's doing really well," though it sounds "crazy" for people to hear. "My mom, she's made friends ... she's keeping busy. She's going to church. She's working," Savannah added. "It makes my heart happy to know that my parents are okay," she said. "I do know that my mission is going to be to bring awareness to how broken our prison system is."
Amid their legal woes, Savannah has been one of her parent's biggest cheerleaders. On January 18, People reported that the star shared a touching tribute to her mom as she headed to prison. "Will forever fight for this smile," Savannah shared on her Instagram stories along with a photo of Julie. "I love you mama."
