Why Megan Fox Had Doubts About Her Relationship With Machine Gun Kelly
Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly's romance began in a way many other famous couples do: on a movie set. In an interview with Drew Barrymore on her self-titled show, Kelly explained that he and Fox met on the set of "Midnight in the Switchgrass," and Fox had a lot to do with his decision to join the film. "We were filming a movie which ironically the only reason I took the movie was because they were like, 'Your scenes are with Megan Fox,' and I was like, 'I'll take the movie,'" MGK told Barrymore. "My gut is always right, and I'm grateful for it," he said, before noting that he just "knew" Fox would invite him out ... and she did.
That same year, Fox appeared in Kelly's music video, "Bloody Valentine," sparking further romance rumors. After the music video, a source told People the pair spent a lot of time together. "They seem to have fun and look happy together. Megan only sees him when the kids are with Brian," the insider explained. Fast forward to 2022 when Kelly popped the question to Fox. "'Yes, in this life and every life,' beneath the same branches we fell in love under, i brought her back to ask her to marry me," he stated on his Instagram feed before explaining the reasoning behind the diamond and emerald ring, which was to symbolize their birthstones.
However, it wasn't always a "sure" thing for the "Jennifer's Body" star, particularly at the start of their relationship.
Megan Fox says she made a pro and con list about Machine Gun Kelly
Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly got hot and heavy fast, but it wasn't without hesitation. The couple has been pretty open about their romance, and Fox shared details about their love story in an interview with Who What Wear. "When I met [Colson Baker], I knew instantly that this is a soul I've traveled with before, that this was a soul-mate connection, and that there was a purpose here," she explained to the outlet.
Just because she felt an instant connection, though, doesn't mean she didn't have her guard up. "There was my logical brain chiming and being like, 'This will never work for 101 reasons.'" Fox even revealed that she compiled a "pro and con" list about dating Kelly. Of course, we all know that the pair took things to the next level, so it's safe to say that the pros outweighed the cons.
That interview was not the first time the 36-year-old revealed details about the beginning of her relationship with the musician. A few years before meeting on the "Midnight in the Switchgrass" set, the pair saw one another at a party but didn't remember each other's faces, as Fox told GQ. She added, "We weren't supposed to run into each other that night, so our souls, our spirit guides, were luring us away from each other, because you literally had no face, like that thing from 'Spirited Away.'"
Inside Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly's split rumors
While the love story between Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly started strong, that doesn't necessarily mean there haven't been hiccups along the way. In February, things seemed pretty rocky for the pair after Fox deleted all of her photos with Kelly from her Instagram page. To make matters even more interesting, the actor also shared lyrics from Beyoncé's song, "Pray You Catch Me," from her album "Lemonade." You know, the song where she famously called out Jay-Z's infidelity. Well, the "Transformers" star also seemed to be referring to her relationship with Kelly, perhaps hinting at infidelity. "You can taste the dishonesty/ it's all over your breath," she wrote in the caption. She later deleted her Instagram account altogether, making us scratch our heads even more.
Not long after Fox's Instagram post and photo deletion, a source told People the pair had a pretty bad fight, which left Fox "very upset." The insider added, "They haven't officially called off the engagement, but Megan took her ring off. They have had issues in the past, but things seem pretty serious this time." The source also said that the "New Girl" actor "won't speak" to Kelly.
Rumors have been circulating that Kelly cheated on Fox with his guitarist, Sophie Lloyd. When one person commented on the post that MGK cheated on Fox with Lloyd, Fox commented back, writing, "Maybe I got with Sophie," alongside a flame emoji.
