Inside Camila Morrone's Relationship With Her Former Step-Father Al Pacino

Actor-slash-model Camila Morrone formed a tight bond with Al Pacino, who is her mother's former partner. Morrone shared with Vulture in 2019 that her mother, Lucila Solá, was pursuing acting when Morrone was a child, so Morrone was exposed to the audition process at a young age. As she matured, Morrone scored a role in the film "Bukowski," which kickstarted her passion for acting. "I had, like, one day on the set. But just being on-camera and having a scene to do was the best feeling ever," Morrone said. "I remember crying on the way home being like, 'I never want this to end! For the rest of my life!'"

Solá, meanwhile, scored parts like a role in the 2011 film "Wilde Salomé," which starred and was directed by Pacino. After meeting for this project, Solá and Pacino began dating. They were often seen out and about together, such as when they were pictured during a Mexico vacation in 2017, per the Daily Mail. The outlet stated that, in spite of past rumors of a breakup, the couple had been together for nearly 10 years at that point. However, the two split for good in 2018. Though this relationship ultimately didn't last, Pacino provided professional guidance to Morrone when she needed it.

Camila Morrone turned to Al Pacino for acting advice

Camila Morrone went to her then-stepparent, Al Pacino, amid a stressful career moment. During a 2018 interview on "The Late Late Show with James Corden," Morrone discussed learning she'd earned her first acting role for the 2013 movie "Bukowski." While she was at ease throughout the audition process, Morrone felt unprepared to tackle the part since she hadn't had prior professional acting experience. So, she asked Pacino for support.

"Of course, the first person I called was my stepdad, who has been an actor for a long time and is [a] very established actor," Morrone said. Corden then chimed in and said, "His name is Al Pacino." Pacino invited Morrone over to his house to read the script, which they spent two hours on, she stated. Morrone also shared advice the "Godfather" star gave her, such as, "'Just be yourself. ... Just react to the act, and you'll be fine.'" When Morrone tried to ask further questions about her character, Pacino humorously said, "'You're fine, you're 19. No one cares.'"

In a 2019 chat with Entertainment Tonight, Morrone opened up about how being raised around the entertainment industry got her ready for a career in acting. "I was fortunate in the sense that I grew up in Hollywood, so I feel like I saw a lot of that and I was exposed to that at a very young age," Morrone said. She was also introduced to another major Hollywood star as a result of being close to Pacino.

Camla Morrone met her ex, Leonardo DiCaprio, through Al Pacino

Camila Morrone's relationship with an ex began years after they met through her former stepdad Al Pacino, who is a close pal of DiCpario's. At this time, Morrone was only 12; she and DiCaprio didn't become an item until around late 2017, when Morrone was 20 years old.

The U.K. Sun reported in 2018 that Pacino and his then-partner and Morrone's mother, Lucia Solá, would sometimes go on double dates with Morrone and DiCaprio. As of August 2022, Morrone and DiCaprio's relationship had officially ended after over four years together.

Since the split, DiCaprio has crossed paths with Pacino at the birthday party of a friend, the Daily Mail revealed in February 2023. Meanwhile, Morrone has continued to follow in the footsteps of her famous previous stepdad and mother, as she's been focusing on her acting endeavors. That same month, Morrone talked to The Cut about her approach to taking on a starring part in the new mini-series "Daisy Jones & The Six." "With any character that I play, I try to bring what I know from my real life," Morrone said. "That's the main thing that I learned in acting class, how to tap into moments in your life that were impactful."
