Kim Zolciak Nearly Got Dumped By Kroy Biermann Before They Were Ever Married
Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann are the latest "RHOA" alums to befall what's shaping up to be a wave of failed marriages across the franchise. News of their divorce comes months after Drew Sidora and Ralph Pittman, Eva Marcille and Michael Sterling, and Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill shockingly decided to end their respective marriages. According to TMZ, Zolciak-Biermann initiated the divorce from the former NFL star. Within her petition, Zolciak wrote that their union is "irretrievably broken" and requested spousal and child support.
According to Us Weekly, Zolciak posted a meme about being single one day before filing her paperwork. The meme read: "Uber driver asked me, 'Do you have a man?' I said, 'I am a man.' He been quiet ever since. You ain't about to kidnap me!" While it's possible that the "Don't Be Tardy" star was using humor to relay a real experience, she is a Bravo veteran who's well versed in public perception. Chances are this was shade. Either way, it seems that the former "RHOA" star is holding all the cards amid their divorce. People has reported that Zolciak had been contemplating leaving Biermann in the dust for "a long time" because of her and Biermann's public financial hiccups.
But this wasn't always her reality. Early in their relationship, Biermann actually almost dumped Zolciak before tying the knot.
Kroy Bierman tried to break up with Kim Zolciak
For the past decade, Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann seemed to share an impenetrable bond. Their tight-knit relationship even caused Zolciak problems with her former "RHOA" co-stars. During Season 5, Zolciak's co-stars accused her of bringing Biermann to events so that she had an excuse to leave early. Biermann also nearly got into a physical fight with production over Zolciak after she stormed away from the group at lunch. But even they've weathered ups and downs.
In 2018, Zolciak revealed on her "House of Kim" podcast that she and Biermann hit a rough patch early on. Zolciak spoke about meeting Biermann through "Dancing Stars of Atlanta," describing him as the "hottest a** and body I have ever seen" (via the Daily Mail). Eventually, they started a secret relationship until the "RHOA" producers uncovered their romance. Once the public found out, Biermann couldn't withstand the attention. Biermann reportedly texted her, "Hey, just wanted to let you know it might be in our best interests to go our separate ways." Zolciak interjected, "Yeah, that's exactly what it said, you jerk!" (via Too Fab) When she inquired as to why, Zolciak recounted that Biermann said, "'It just is what it is.' I will never forget that. 'It just is what it is.' I was like, this a**hole! Well, f*** him then!" Fortunately, Biermann came to his senses, leading the two to make up and eventually get married, merging their lives and families.
Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann haven't parted ways ...yet
Given their decade plus together, joint business ventures, and large, blended family, it'd probably be in Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann's best interests to give things another try. After all, Zolciak once described Biermann as "the love of my life" during an absolutely adorable birthday tribute. "You are the glue that holds our family together! I hope today we make your day as special as can be, Zolciak wrote in part on Instagram in 2017. Of course, only they know what's best for their respective lives.
In either case, it may be some time Biermann and Zolciak actually go their separate ways. On Tuesday, TMZ reported that though Zolciak has filed for divorce, she and Biermann are still residing in the same residence. According to legal documents, the estranged couple and four of their six children are still living in the widely-talked about mansion (and its unpaid mortgage) that's at the center of their financial hardship. Hopefully, they manage to come up with the funds to save their home, though current reports certainly aren't forecasting a happy ending for the family.
