Celeb Cheaters Who Later Got A Taste Of Their Own Medicine

Cheaters never prosper — at least not for long.

When you're wealthy, gorgeous, and in a career that attracts a lot of narcissists, temptation lurks around every corner. That's an even bigger problem for celebrities, because in addition to temptation, they're also often surrounded by paparazzi cameras and opportunists who are willing to talk to tabloids (and maybe snap some photos with their phones) to make money.

Cheating hurts everyone involved eventually: The scorned party feels it the most acutely and the most immediately, but eventually the other man or woman will be vilified, and the cheater, unless he or she is a total sociopath, will be wracked with guilt at some point ... and in the case of these bold-faced names, they were also wracked with really bad press.

These stars all engaged in affairs while they were in relationships, and karma came back to bite them all big time. Behold, celebrity cheaters who later got a taste of their own medicine.

America's Sweetheart married a naughty boy

When reluctant America's Sweetheart Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid divorced in 2001, the public was swift to put the blame on Ryan, who had a highly-publicized affair with Russell Crowe after they co-starred in Proof Of Life (2000). However, she later claimed that Quaid had cheated on her throughout their decade-long marriage.

"It was a great story, but what wasn't in the story was the reality of my marriage for nine years. Dennis was not faithful to me for a long time, and that was very painful. I found out more about that once I was divorced ... I think I made a mistake in not talking more specifically," Ryan told In Style (via Today) in 2008. She added that Crowe "took a big hit" after the affair but that the Oscar winner "didn't break up the marriage. He was definitely there at the end, but it wasn't his fault ... As painful as it was, it was also incredibly liberating."

Quaid didn't deny Ryan's claims of his infidelity, telling The Daily Mail, "It was eight years ago, and I find it unbelievable that Meg continues publicly to rehash and rewrite the story of our relationship."

Hey Jude, you might want to check Sienna's phone

Jude Law became infamous in 2005 when it was revealed he cheated on then-fiancèe Sienna Miller with his children's nanny, Daisy Knight. Law's children had reportedly caught them in the act, and though Knight denied the affair at first to Law's ex-wife, Sadie Frost, Knight was terminated from her position — then sold her story to a tabloid.

Law issued an apology for the affair, telling the press (via The Telegraph), "Following the reports, I just want to say I am deeply ashamed and upset that I've hurt Sienna and the people most close to us. I want to publicly apologize to Sienna and our respective families for the pain that I have caused. There is no defense for my actions, which I deeply regret, and I ask that you respect our privacy at this most difficult time."

However, he supposedly wasn't the only cheater in his relationship.

News Of The World hacked into actor Daniel Craig's voicemails in 2005 and uncovered a message from Miller to Craig saying she loved him. The Telegraph reported that in the January 2014 hacking trial surrounding the tabloid, Miller said of her Craig dalliance, "It was not a relationship, it was a very brief encounter." It was also revealed that Law's publicists allegedly attempted to "backdate" Miller's supposed affair with Craig in the press to appear that it occurred before Law's affair with Knight.

Eva Longoria has an odd way of pronouncing 'cheating'

Eva Longoria admitted to Eve magazine (via Female First) that she has a habit of "overlapping" partners instead of breaking up and then moving on to the next man — which sounds a lot like a euphemistic way of saying she cheated on her partners instead of dumping them.

"I end up overlapping people because I know I'm over the relationship, so I move on without telling them," she confessed. "It's not good. I've never broken up with someone successfully."

It was speculated that Longoria "overlapped" her relationships with former *NSYNC singer J.C. Chasez and then-San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker (and possibly director of a TV movie in which she starred, called The Dead Will Tell, according to The National Enquirer) in 2004. Longoria herself admitted that she "fell in lust at first sight" with [Parker] upon meeting him in November 2004, the same year she was linked with Chasez. Whoops!

Karma came back to bite Longoria when it was revealed that Parker had been having an affair with Erin Barry, wife of former NBA star Brent Barry, behind Longoria's back during their marriage. For what it's worth, sources close to Parker denied to People that a "physical" affair took place, but admitted he and Erin Barry were sexting. Regardless, Longoria filed for divorce from Parker in 2010.

These former Mouseketeers treated each other like rats

"What Goes Around...Comes Around" indeed.

For a good while after his breakup with Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake seemingly took every imaginable opportunity to insinuate that she cheated on him during their relationship, most famously in his music video for "Cry Me A River." Us Weekly reported that Spears may have hooked up with choreographer Wade Robson while dating Timberlake, though it's never been confirmed by anyone involved. If true, Spears may have gotten her comeuppance in 2014. Days after announcing her split from boyfriend David Lucado on Twitter, the "Stronger" singer said onstage at her Planet Hollywood Las Vegas residency (via MTV News), "Well, by now everyone knows my boyfriend cheated on me."

Of course, Timberlake himself hasn't been an innocent victim all these years, either.

Though there weren't rumors he cheated on Spears, it's been widely reported that he had a wandering eye during his relationship with (but before his marriage to) Jessica Biel. In 2009, he was rumored to have hooked up with Rihanna; Us Weekly reported that in September 2010, Timberlake slept with actress Olivia Munn — who he reportedly told he was single. His rep has denied all allegations of infidelity.

Betrayal Begins: Dawn of Bennifer

When the original Bennifer first got together, Jennifer Lopez may have still been married to dancer Cris Judd. Judd's father told The New York Daily News that J.Lo was "infatuated" with Gigli (2003) co-star Ben Affleck and hinted that they'd hooked up in Lopez's trailer during her marriage to Judd.

Bennifer 2.0 may have had similar beginnings.

Affleck hinted that he may have stepped out on then-fiancèe Lopez with Jennifer Garner on the set of Daredevil (2003), telling Playboy (via Us Weekly), "That's where I found my wife. We met on Pearl Harbor (2001), which people hate, but we fell in love on Daredevil (2003)."

Garner was married to Scott Foley at the time, but it didn't stop her from fawning over Affleck: In 2003, Garner was caught on camera on IFC's Dinner For Five (via Entertainment Tonight), swooning over the Oscar winner, who was still engaged to Jennifer Lopez. Karma came back around for Garner eventually: After she filed for divorce from Affleck in April 2017, sources told People that he'd been having an affair during their own marriage with Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus since 2013.

As for Lopez, People reported in October 2016 that she and boyfriend Casper Smart split, with a source saying, "She kicked him out because he cheated on her and he got caught. It happened two years ago, and he promised he would never do it again and once he did, she was done."

The truth was not out there

David Duchovny and Téa Leoni were married for more than a decade when it was revealed they'd separated due to Duchovny's sex addiction, People reported in October 2008, two months after the X-Files star sought treatment for the condition. Sources had previously told The National Enquirer (via The Daily Mail) that Duchovny's addiction caused him to compulsively cheat on his then-wife for years.

However, Leoni may have had her own sidepiece: Billy Bob Thornton.

The Daily Mail reported that Duchovny discovered some pretty steamy text messages had been exchanged between Leoni and the Oscar winner shortly before Duchovny and Leoni separated. Sources claimed that Leoni even acted as a quasi-roadie for Thornton's band during their alleged brief hookup after they met on the set of a film called Manure (which was, perhaps unsurprisingly, renamed The Sweet Smell of Success).

In any case, Duchovny and Leoni reconciled after his rehab stint and her alleged affair (which Thornton denied), but the couple ultimately filed for divorce in 2014.

Is it still cheating if one of you doesn't know you're dating?

Rob Kardashian and Adrienne Bailon dated for two years until they split, which he later admitted on Keeping Up With The Kardashians (via The New York Daily News) was because he cheated on the former Cheetah Girls star.

That behavior came back two-fold on Kardashian later on.

Kardashian dated singer Rita Ora in 2012 until he launched a brutal Twitter tirade against her accusing her of cheating on him "with nearly 20 dudes," E! News reported. Ora obviously wasn't happy with him after that, but she also admitted to "an Australian magazine" (via The Mirror) that she wasn't sure why he was so mad because from her perspective, they'd never been in an exclusive relationship.

Blac Chyna was the next Kardashian paramour who he accused of infidelity. TMZ reported in July 2017 that Kardashian accused his then-fiancèe and mother of his daughter, Dream, of cheating on him "with a bunch of guys," including rapper Ferrari, while they were together.

Madonna should probably just avoid athletes in general

In July 2008, Alex Rodriguez's wife Cynthia Scurtis' lawyer revealed to TMZ that the slugger was hitting home runs with none other than Madonna. At the time, Madonna was married to Guy Ritchie, which obviously complicated things. She denied the affair to People at the time, but in October 2008, Madge and Ritchie announced their plans to divorce. Sources claimed to People that the Queen of Pop's "friendship" with Rodriguez was definitely "a factor" that contributed to her marriage failing.

Maybe being Rodriguez's "other woman" is why the Material Girl ended up being the woman scorned years later. In February 2016, Madonna revealed onstage during a concert in the Philippines that one of her exes cheated on her with her personal trainer. Madge said, "Once I had a Filipino trainer, this beautiful, beautiful girl. She was gorgeous and very talented as a trainer, but ... she f**ked my boyfriend. So I fired her."

A source told Page Six that the trainer in question was Nicole Winhoffer; Madonna dated dancers Brahim Zaibat and Timor Steffens while working with Winhoffer and never specified which man two-timed her. (An insider claimed that Winhoffer was intimate with one of the men, but that it was before said man was ever involved with Madonna.)

Taylor and Burton were a match made in cheater's heaven

When Elizabeth Taylor was married to her third husband Mike Todd, Eddie Fisher (above left) was married to Debbie Reynolds, Taylor's best friend. After Todd tragically died in a plane crash, Fisher moved in with Taylor, telling Reynolds that he was helping her with the grieving process, The Daily Mail reported.

He was helping Taylor with much more than that, but Reynolds didn't know what was going on until Taylor and Fisher went on vacation together — and Fisher picked up the phone when Reynolds called Taylor's suite. Despite being the ultimate girl code no-no, Taylor went on to marry Fisher.

Still, Taylor hadn't met her match until she met Richard Burton (above right), with whom she engaged in an affair while still married to Fisher. The Daily Mail reported that Burton cheated on Taylor nonstop throughout both of their marriages with multitudes of women; he would likely by today's standards be considered a sex addict. Taylor swore that Burton was the love of her life. Remarkably, no one involved in this love quadrangle had any hard feelings when it was all over.

Nick Carter sounds like a swell guy

Nick Carter revealed to Page Six (via MTV News) that Paris Hilton allegedly cheated on him with Chad Michael Murray (who was married to Sophia Bush at the time) while filming House Of Wax (2005), so he got his revenge with Ashlee Simpson.

"I got people telling me, 'Nick, you know what Paris is doing to you,' and I got a little upset," the Backstreet Boy said. "I just decided to fight back a little bit and started doing my own thing again. The result is I hooked up with Ashlee Simpson. When Paris came back from Australia, they talked to each other and she found out about it." He added that he grew to like Simpson, but no relationship came from the hookup.

Hilton and Murray each denied any illicit behavior with one another ... but where's there's smoke, there's usually fire (or enough heat to melt wax), especially based on Bush's reactions to any mention of her ex.

Sinatra did it his way. Unfortunately, so did his wife.

In 1946, Frank Sinatra had just moved to Hollywood with his wife, Nancy Barbato, when he met actress Lana Turner. According to The Daily Mail, 'Ol Blue Eyes then immediately pursued Tuner. Two weeks into the affair, Sinatra asked Barbato for a divorce, but she refused. It was good news for Sinatra, because Turner was reportedly "two-timing" him with actor Tyrone Power.

It wasn't the only time Sinatra would be jilted by a screen siren. A few years after his affair with Turner, Sinatra encountered legendary beauty Ava Gardner. He divorced Barbato for real this time and married Gardner in 1951, but he was unable to keep her adulterous ways in check, too. The Daily Mail reported that Gardner had numerous affairs during her marriage to Sinatra, but that she also accused him of cheating on her.

"Ava couldn't be alone which is why she had so many affairs," a production worker on one of her films revealed. "She'd say, 'Hey, come on, have a drink with me, I'm bored all by myself.' Then she'd bring back a prop man or whoever to her tent."

Tori and Dean's faulty foundation caused cracks later on

Tori Spelling was married to Charlie Shanian for two years when she first hooked up with Dean McDermott — who was married to Mary Jo Eustace — in 2006. Shanian told GQ (via E! News) that he learned Spelling was hooking up with McDermott from "a supermarket tabloid" and that Spelling later "dumped him in her therapist's office."

Spelling married McDermott the same year, and less than a decade later, McDermott cheated on her with a woman named Emily Goodhand. McDermott checked into rehab for sex addiction after his affair was revealed, and he and Spelling documented the fallout and their eventual reconciliation on True Tori — which Radar Online reported was Spelling's effort to get revenge on McDermott for his bad behavior.

"He was my soulmate, but he completely broke my heart," Spelling told Us Weekly. "It makes you not trust anything that's happened in your relationship."
