Peter Weber's Mom Sends A Message After His Split From Madison

Just about everyone in #BachelorNation is aware by now of how disappointed Peter Weber's mom, Barbara Weber, was to see her son reunite with contestant Madison Prewett. Pilot Pete's decision was especially difficult for Barb to swallow because she loved his first choice, model Hannah Ann Sluss from Tennessee. So when Peter and Madison were being interviewed by host Chris Harrison at The Bachelor finale about their dramatic reunion, it was not surprising to see mama Weber rolling her eyes and shooting glares in their direction. Heck, Barbara even whispered something not-so-nice in her husband's ear about Madison at one point during the confrontation. Talk about a mess with a capital M

Although Barbara caught a lot of criticism for her apparent dislike for Madison, she was somewhat redeemed after it came to light that the Auburn University alum and Peter broke up just two days after the season's conclusion on March 12, 2020. But has Barb let go of her resentment now that Madison and her firstborn are no more? Based on this message Peter Weber's mom sent after his split from Madison, we're not so sure...

Yep, Madison and Peter are done

Before we jump into Barbara Weber's possibly shady message, let's recap Peter Weber and Madison Prewett's fast breakup. Peter took to Instagram first to deliver the news, captioning a lone shot of himself, "Madi and I have mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further. Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us. The love and respect I have for Madi will continue to endure." Madison followed up her ex's post with her own message, stating, "As Peter and I have decided to go our separate ways, I am confident that we will both move in the direction of our purpose and never forget that God has a plan in all things."

The breakup definitely fits Barb's premonition that Madison and Peter wouldn't make it, as she told Chris Harrison during The Bachelor finale, "He's going to have to fail to succeed. That's it. Chris, all his friends, all his family, everyone that knows him knows that it's not going to work, so we've been trying to help him." Yikes.

Is Barb being shady about the breakup?

Barbara Weber seemingly didn't miss a beat when responding to Madison Prewett and Peter Weber's breakup, sharing an Instagram video of herself with her friends dancing to John Denver's, "Leaving on a Jet Plane." The ecstatic looking Barb, who smiles and laughs in the clip, wrote next to a heart emoji, "Love you guys." Some fans took the jovial vid as a dig at Madison, with one commenter chiding, "Barb sorry but you need to stop." Someone else said, "You seem so happy. Its probably because Madison just announced she broke up with your son. It's your dream come true!"

Although we won't theorize about whether this is shade or not, we do think it's worth bringing up that Barbara gave a salty interview to Life & Style about her true feelings toward Madison. "There's nothing for me to apologize for," Peter's mom said about the way she talked to the basketball star during The Bachelor finale, adding that she didn't approve of how she was treated when they met in Australia. "She finally came in and you could tell she did not want to be there," Barbara shared. "It was very obvious."

We think it's safe to say it's probably for the best that Madison and Peter didn't work out — can you imagine what family holidays would have looked like?

Peter's little brother had something to say, too

Not only did Barbara Weber speak out about the Madison Prewett drama, but so did her second son, Jack Weber. Peter Weber's little brother shared his true feelings in the comments section of one of his Instagram posts, telling a fan (via People), "Half these people don't even have the slightest clue as to how far Madi is from what the TV shows." Jack also pointed out how reality TV portrays "everyone and everything how they want for views and drama." But wait — Peter's sibling didn't stop there. When a fan referred to Barb's behavior as "appalling," he clapped back, "Did you ever once think that there is a reason why only the family who has actually met this girl in person and knows what goes on behind the cameras has a different opinion? You need to learn how reality TV works."

Messy, messy, messy. Someone who'd second this sentiment? Host Chris Harrison, who shared the truth about Peter Weber's family post-finale.
