When Did Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce Get Engaged? We Think We Know (Here's The Proof)

After engagement rumors had swirled around Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce for months, the couple finally announced in a joint Instagram post that they are engaged. Looking at their engagement photos offered hints as to when Swift's beau may have popped the question. The "she said 'yes'" Instagram post featured Kelce in a navy blue Polo shirt and white shorts as "The Life of a Showgirl" artist sported a matching white dress with dark blue stripes. "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," they wrote in the caption, as the first snap showed the Kansas City Chiefs star on bended knee proposing in an idyllic garden. The third slide gave an eyeful of Swift's engagement ring from Kindred Lubeck with Artifex Fine Jewelry, as it was a close up of the couple's hands.

Keen-eyed fans may have noticed that Swift looked similar to her appearance on Kelce's "New Heights" podcast on August 13, as she was wearing the same diamond-encrusted Cartier watch. In addition to the watch, the pop star wore the same bracelet and even had what appeared to be the same manicure that she rocked for the engagement photos. It's possible that Kelce was waiting until right after the podcast appearance to pop the question. Or perhaps he snuck it in right before and Swift chose to keep it quiet at the time, figuring that the bombshell that she's dropping a new album in October was enough news for one episode.

Not only was Swift wearing the same jewelry in the engagement snaps as in her podcast appearance, but a source confirmed to Page Six that Kelce proposed "a couple of weeks ago." That timeline matches up with the "New Heights" interview. Plus, there were a couple other hints.

Travis Kelce hinted at a proposal in the past

Watching Taylor Swift's appearance on the "New Heights" podcast on August 13 gives further clues that the pair had something special brewing. Multiple Swifties noted that the typically gregarious NFL player looked especially smitten with the "Anti-Hero" singer. "[T]ravis just sitting there silently and whispering compliments on her every 10 seconds," one YouTube user commented.

The previous month, before having Swift on his show, Kelce uploaded a summer photo dump to Instagram that hinted at "adventures" with his then-girlfriend. "Had some adventures this offseason, kept it [100 emoji]," he wrote in the caption. The first pic was a shot of Kelce and Swift wearing matching white outfits as he donned a "Captain" sailor's hat, and she wore a "Ship Mate" hat. Naturally, fans popped up in the replies wondering if Kelce was ready to walk the proverbial plank and take the plunge. "Please get married," one follower urged the couple.

Previously, Kelce addressed the rumors of proposing to Swift at the 2025 Super Bowl. While fielding questions from the press in a media scrum on the opening day of Super Bowl weekend, the Kansas City Chiefs player was asked about the potential of popping the question during the big game. "Wouldn't you like to know," he slyly responded, per People
