Side-By-Side Pics Of Kelly Johnson Hint She Wasn't Immune 'Mar-A-Lago Face'
The beauty trend that has taken over Republican women — and men! — by storm shows no sign of wavering. While we most often associate the Mar-a-Lago face with figures like Kristi Noem, Kimberly Guilfoyle, and Matt Gaetz, less prominent ones within Donald Trump's circle were also not immune. Mike Johnson's wife, Kelly Johnson, is a good example. Since Mike became speaker of the House in October 2023, his wife has slowly but surely transformed her face to fit the beauty standard in vogue.
While the above picture (from November 2023) suggests that Kelly may have gotten cosmetic procedures in the past, more recent pictures show that her transformation has accelerated. The extent of the changes can be better gauged when compared to photos of her youth. In a May 2025 Instagram post, Mike shared a picture from their wedding day (seen below on the right) that shows the different ways Kelly has acquired the Mar-a-Lago facial features. For starters, Kelly (seen on the left in July 2025) has much fuller lips now.
While Kelly has never discussed getting any cosmetic procedures, her mouth has the puffiness and extra volume often associated with fillers. Her cheeks also appear unnaturally smooth and shiny, another characteristic of the tuned-up look that has taken over Washington, D.C., under Trump. Similarly, her forehead looks unnaturally smooth for someone in her 50s, suggesting she may have gotten Botox injections not too long before the photo was taken. However, she may not be the only Johnson to have turned to professional help.
Netizens believe Mike Johnson had cosmetic procedures
Getting a little help from a professional may be a family affair at the Johnsons' household — at least that's what some netizens think. Mike Johnson's tuned-up look has sparked plastic surgery rumors as well. Some social media users have expressed doubts that his smooth skin can be natural for a 50-something-year-old man. "He got the Mar-a-Lago glow up," one X user joked in March 2025. Others shared a similar opinion, arguing that his look is unusual for someone of his background.
"I highly doubt a straight male from Louisiana was using moisturizer and skin care products in the 90s and early 2000s," a Reddit user argued in a January 2025 thread. The Redditor took things a bit further and conjectured that the Speaker of the House may have gone under the knife. "Also looks like he got a chin implant imo. It could just be him losing face fat as he ages, but idk the jawline looks way more defined," the user added.
Johnson's looks have also played a role in the persistent speculation that he is gay. In early 2025, online rumors claimed that he had a profile on Grindr, a dating app for the LGBTQ+ community. However, the fact-checking website Snopes found no evidence of Johnson having a Grindr account.
