Off On The Wrong Foot Already? Meghan & Harry's Strict New School Demands Leak Out

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's U.K. homecoming has been quite the journey, to say the least. Now, the royal defectors are facing another unexpected hiccup, this time involving their children's school. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly ruffled some feathers at Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet's new school in Britain after a letter was issued reminding parents not to take photos of other kids. And while it's unclear whether the pair had anything to do with the notice, at least one parent couldn't help but question the timing. 

"It can't be a coincidence that these notices are going out now just after Harry and Meghan have moved their children into the local area," the parent, who refused to be named, stressed to The Mirror, arguing, "It's complete overkill, everyone knows the boundaries, and could you imagine the uproar from other parents if someone was discovered purposely taking pictures of children that weren't theirs." This is just the latest issue the controversial couple has faced since returning to the U.K. in August. It follows Meghan and Harry's abrupt decision to switch schools, which was reportedly due to privacy and traffic-related concerns. 

As a representative for the Sussexes previously confirmed to Hello! magazine, "The decision for the children to move school was taken following a discussion with the family' security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements," adding, "The parents remain extremely grateful to all the teachers and staff for the love, care and effort they have shown their family." Meghan's phone number was also reportedly leaked from a parents' WhatsApp group chat earlier this week, which has understandably left the couple reeling, per The Mirror. 

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's U.K. return is proving more complicated than either they or royal fans may have anticipated, but the family is holding up well and actually appear to be having a lovely time despite everything. Speaking to Hello! magazine at the Invictus Spirit Awards, on September 17, the Duke of Sussex proudly shared how he and Meghan are adjusting to their new life in Britain alongside their two children. "The last two weeks have been — it's been eventful. We're getting stuck into the work. Kids are in school. We're happy," Harry enthused. "It's great. It's wonderful to be back on British soil." They had barely gotten settled in when his father, King Charles III, threw cold water on Meghan and Harry with an icy clarification on their royal status, asserting they would remain non-working royals. 

The Sussexes made headlines in August with the news that they were returning to Britain following their divisive decision to step back from royal life, and later relocate to California, in 2020. The Sussexes have been living in Montecito for the last six years and have not disclosed their reasons for leaving. However, the king's health was reportedly a major factor in their decision. "I know that Charles is a big reason for their return," a royal insider disclosed to Page Six at the time. They also also wanted Archie and Lilibet to be closer to his side of the family. However, at least one royal is said to be rattled by their return: Prince William, who has been feuding with his younger brother since at least 2018.
