Melissa Sue Anderson, who is best known for her starring role as Mary Ingalls in the original "Little House on the Prairie" series, is still stunning today, and FYI, her daughter is just as gorgeous, having inherited some of the actor's best features. In 1991, Anderson gave birth to her first child, Piper Sloan Harmon, whom she shares with her husband, producer Michael Sloan. The couple also shares a son named Griffin. Although she hasn't been very active on social media, Anderson has, on occasion, shared photos of her daughterr on her X account, proving that good genes run deep.

In the pic above, which Anderson posted in September 2014, for instance, you can definitely see the resemblance between the '70s teen idol (who has disappeared from Hollywood) and her daughter. Even though they don't look exactly alike, Piper clearly shares some of her mother's physical traits, including her piercing blue eyes, gorgeous smile, and glass-smooth skin. And fans in the comments section seemed to agree as well, with several users pointing out their similarities. "What a pretty daughter that she [is] Melissa! Like Mother like [daughter]!" one enthused. Another commenter noted, "Your gorgeous daughter has your stunningly gorgeous eyes wow you are both so lucky."

In November 2016, the actor also shared photos of her daughter from Piper's wedding to longtime partner Jeb Harmon on X, including one where the mother-daughter duo looked incredibly similar as they posed with huge smiles on their faces. Naturally, though, there's so much more to Piper than just her beauty.

Piper Harmon is highly accomplished in her own right

Unfortunately, there aren't many publicly-available photos of the mother-daughter pair together, as neither Melissa Sue Anderson nor Piper Sloan Harmon maintains an active presence on social media. However, thanks to Piper's X account, we can get a glimpse into her life and learn a little more about this elusive beauty. Turns out, she and her husband, Jeb Harmon, have been together since 2012 and became engaged in 2015. "SO excited to announce that @JebHarmon and [I] are engaged!!" an old tweet showing Piper flaunting her engagement ring enthused. The happy couple tied the knot in a private ceremony just one year after their engagement.

Anderson confirmed that she wouldn't be totally opposed to Piper following in her footsteps if acting was something her daughter wanted to pursue. But it seems that she never caught the bug, finding her calling elsewhere. According to Piper's LinkedIn, she went to American University in Washington, D.C., where she obtained a degree in international studies. She also has a master's in internal communication, specializing in "public and cultural diplomacy." Over the years, she's worked at various organizations, including as a program coordinator at the Save the Children foundation, and currently, as a senior manager at the American Society of Hematology or ASH.

Speaking to talk show host Harvey Brownstone in 2024, Anderson said she doesn't regret turning her back on acting to focus on raising her children. "You know, I really wanted them to have as normal an upbringing as possible, so I didn't miss it. I really didn't and I don't," the "Little House on the Prairie" star stressed (via YouTube). "I really enjoyed being my children's mother," she proudly added. "That was great. Being proud of them for their accomplishments [...] is great."
