Dylan Dreyer's Life Looks A Lot Different These Days Post-Divorce
Dylan Dreyer's life was never the same after her divorce from Brian Fichera. Because the "Today" meteorologist had three young children when she parted ways with her longtime husband in mid-2025, she had to find a completely new way to live to make things work. For starters, she stopped being a Manhattanite, swapping the Big Apple for the suburbs of Long Island. But that wasn't all. In October 2026, Dreyer revealed that her mother, Linda Bullington, stays with her for months on end to help her out as she balances a demanding career and motherhood.
Dreyer's sons, Cal, Ollie, and Rusty, are busy boys with lots of activities for her to keep up with. She needed the help. But going back under her mother's wing after years out of the nest wasn't an easy transition — for either party. After Bullington criticized her daughter's messiness on "The Parent Chat" podcast, Dreyer shot back, "You're not a very neat person." But Dreyer has nothing but gratitude for having her around. "I don't think a couple of years ago my mom ever thought that she would be living with me, emptying out backpacks, cleaning off the lunchboxes, and helping me run everybody around," she said. "But it is what it is, and now she's here, and I honestly don't know what I would do without her."
Dreyer is finding her groove in her new post-divorce life in Long Island, but she admits to missing life in the city. "I could have seen the parade right out my window. And then I left the city, a little too early," she said on "Today" in July 2026 (via Hello!). Managing work with the demands of raising three rambunctious little ones hasn't been easy.
Dylan Dreyer had to work on her parenting expectations
Life post-divorce came with many changes for Dylan Dreyer. But parenting her sons has been the most challenging. Her experience has been so intense that Dreyer even launched "The Parent Chat" podcast to share her lessons as she learned to shed her expectations of being the perfect parent. "I hit my breaking points sometimes at the end of the day, and I'm just trying to make the best life for the kids," she told Parents in June 2026, after being recognized at the 2026 Parents Next Gen Awards. "To think people can relate to what I'm going through and find me inspirational is really wild."
Amid all the changes, Dreyer also had to find ways to make co-parenting with her ex, Brian Fichera, work. Perhaps surprisingly, that's the facet she found easiest to navigate. As it turns out, Dreyer and Fichera get along better after divorcing than they did in the years leading up to it. "We've reframed our relationship," she said on "Today" in November 2025. "We're no longer husband and wife. And all those things that were broken — I don't hold them against [him]."
Dreyer wants her children to see her and Fichera getting along and having a good time, instead of fighting and being unhappy with each other. She finds it a lot easier to enjoy his company nowadays. Dreyer and Fichera celebrated their first Thanksgiving after their split together, and she welcomes him for dinner all the time. "For us, it's what works, and the boys don't see fighting. They see nothing but love," she told Parents.
