Alaskan Bush People's Bear Brown Shares Good News About His Son
Discovery Channel star Bear Brown and his ex-fiancée, Raiven Adams, have had a notoriously toxic relationship. One year after they met, the two got engaged in late August 2019, only to call it quits two weeks later. At the time, Bear called Raiven "a wonderful person" to People in a statement, noting, "Sometimes people are better as friends and that's perfectly okay." However, things quickly soured from there.
According to The Blast, in February 2020, Raiven filed for a domestic violence protective order against Brown. In the court documents, she claimed the Alaskan Bush People star was verbally abusive, threatened her with his gun, and admitted to cocaine use (which she claimed that Bear blames for his erratic behavior). Bear denied the drug accusations on Instagram, per The Blast. He has since made his account private.
In March 2020, Raiven gave birth to their son, River. The birth of their baby only deepened the rift between the two and quickly locked them in a bitter custody battle. Several months later, the exes had reached a custody agreement, according to The Sun, and momentarily seemed to be on good terms.
Still, as of September 2020, Bear has yet to meet his son, due to his and Raiven's legal battles and coronavirus restrictions. In August 2020, Raiven claimed, as The Sun reported, that Bear was always welcome to meet the baby, though he hasn't. However, that is all about to change.
Bear Brown will finally get to hold baby River
In September 2020, Bear Brown announced on his Instagram account that he will finally get to meet his son River.
"Raiven is bringing little River up for a visit!" Brown declared, via People. "It'll be the first time I've gotten to see him in person, but we have been talking a lot over the phone! It's gonna be so cool to be able to hold him!"
Despite not being physically present in River's life, Bear has been involved as a father, sending him toys. On Father's Day, Raiven Adams took to Instagram (per The Blast) to share multiple photos of their son, along with a warm caption to her ex.
"Enjoy these cute smiley photos dad. Lord knows we didn't do everything right but we made a pretty cute kid," she wrote at the time.
But as of August 2020, there still seemed to be some bad blood between the two. Raiven claimed, according to The Sun, that Bear only wanted to meet River for "publicity." Still, with the news that she is bringing River to meet his dad, it seems like an olive branch has been extended — at least for now.
