Clare Crawley's Reunion With Benoit You Didn't See On The Bachelorette

Clare Crawley's season of The Bachelorette kicked off on Oct. 13, 2020, giving fans their first glimpse into her quest for love. Longtime fans know that this is not her first stint with the franchise, though. Clare first joined Bachelor Nation in 2014 as a contestant on Juan Pablo Galavis' season of The Bachelor. She went on to star in Season 1 and 2 of Bachelor in Paradise.

Clare also appeared on The Bachelor Winter Games in 2018, where she met and fell in love with Benoit Beauséjour-Savard, who she ultimately got engaged to. Although the couple broke off their engagement, they are on good terms and Benoit was apparently supposed to make an appearance on her new season. According to Entertainment Tonight, Benoit teased his appearance on social media ahead of Season 16's premiere. He wrote on his Instagram Story, "It's tonight guys!!! Tune in on ABC to watch @clarecrawley journey. P.S.: You might see a familiar French Canadian in it."

Unfortunately for fans who were expecting to see some action from this ex, Benoit did not appear in the premiere episode as he hinted. Us Weekly reported that the show also skipped over Clare's time on The Bachelor Winter Games and her engagement, despite showing footage from her time on Juan Pablo's season and Bachelor in Paradise.

So, here's everything you need to know about Clare's reunion with Benoit that you didn't get to see.

Clare Crawley and Benoit Beauséjour-Savard are 'the best of friends'

After the premiere of Season 16 came and went with no appearance from Benoit Beauséjour-Savard, both fans and Benoit were disappointed. Entertainment Tonight pointed out that Benoit took to Instagram Story to show fans the reunion they would have seen, posting a picture of himself and Clare Crawley having a conversation at a restaurant.

Along with the snapshot, Benoit wrote, "Well.... This is what you should have seen ...just two exes having a fun chat... that's probably why they cut that." He also shared another photo with Clare, where they're making goofy faces. He wrote, "And a little too much baileys in our coffees @clarecrawley."

Even with his scenes getting cut, fans still expected some coverage of Clare's engagement and her time on The Bachelor Winter Games. In a response to one fan's tweet that called for justice for Benoit and the Winter Games footage, ABC executive Rob Mills explained the reasoning behind this and tweeted, "We didn't have time for the footage but fun fact: Clare and Benoit are the best of friends!

Fans can at least be happy knowing Clare and her ex-fiancé are on good terms and that Benoit is so supportive of her journey.
