The Reason TikTok Star Olivia Ponton And Kio Cyr Split Up

Olivia Ponton and Kio Cyr were a match made in TikTok heaven until their breakup in June 2020. The young social media stars had only been dating for a few months before the called it quits. Per Seventeen, Ponton and Cyr were first romantically linked in February 2020 when he "visit[ed] Olivia at her house in Florida in their first TikTok together." For months, the two toyed with their fans in a series of flirtatious videos and photos on TikTok and Instagram.

In March 2020, Ponton and Cyr created a YouTube video denying they were an item. However, at the end of the very flirty video, they both went in for a kiss. By June 2020, Ponton had taken to social media to let her fans know that their short-lived romance was over. Per Dexerto, on June 24, 2020, Ponton reportedly posted the following on her Instagram Story: "some beautiful things come to an end. i forever wish you the best. thank you for everything, i appreciate you always." 

In addition to the post on her IG story, the TikTok star also tweeted out some cryptic messages. "i just did one of the hardest things I've ever had to do," Ponton wrote in a tweet on June 23, 2020. The next day she tweeted, "I will always love you." On June 25, 2020, Cyr took to Twitter to send out a message of his own, writing, "You'll always have my heart. I wish you the best angel."

Olivia Ponton has no plans of getting back together with Kio Cyr

By September 2020, Olivia Ponton was ready to open up about what caused her breakup with Kio Cyr. While speaking with Hollywire, Ponton revealed that Cyr cheated on her during their relationship. "He had moments where he was very unfaithful," she said. "We tried to work out the problems like any relationship would because I loved him, but that's unfortunately why the relationship ended."

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight in October 2020, Ponton admitted that she still "loved him" and thinks Cyr is "amazing," but admitted she has no plans of ever getting back with him. "Being so young and going through all of it at once, I was like, 'Whoa! This is a lot to take,'" the TikTok star explained. "He was my first boyfriend too. It was a lot to take in." She did mention that the two "still talk every now and then," but they "don't hang out or anything." 

During their relationship, the pair would document parts of their romance on social media for their fans to divulge in. "It was definitely interesting to have everyone be so included in our relationship," she shared. "I feel like that was a way people definitely got to know me as a person ... but now I think people are slowly starting to know me for me."
